I think GEJ did the right thing for not arresting Buhari then. If he had arrested him, those blood thirsty animals would have declared a full blown war against the southerners living in the north. Apart from those corps members that were killed, many perceived christians also lost their lives, especially in Kaduna. I remembered how they entered Nuhu Bamali polythecnic, Zaria and raped female students and thereafter killed them.It was really a shocking moment. Its God that spared lives of some of us in the north then. All these happened because somebody said he was cheated in the 2011 elections and called on his supporters to reject the result. We can now see who is the master of hate speech. I can still up till now understand how somebody who was the architect of 2011 post election crises became the president.

That was outright barbaric and unfortunate.

Those corpers did not deserve to die, certainly not for politicians who mostly care about themselves.

Regardless of which side of the divide you support, outright condemnation of such dastardly acts should be expected.

I am however worried about this author's purpose and sincerity.

Can he provide any quote from any reliable source of Buhari inciting the crowd to violence?

Take note: This election and post-election violence took place in 2011.

Again i ask, what is hate speech? and what did Buhari say that can be classified as hate speech. I am not defending him but I know that the media has not been fair to him for a long time.
For me, one of his greatest mistakes of recent is his failure to calm his supporters when the voilence started but I doubt he would have been able to prevent the clashes in the first place.

The purpose is to remind us all of the people we are dealing with. If you do not know where you are coming from, your destination will be a problem. This government is trying to parade itself as an angel of light but we know better.

Please don't make an effort trying to defend Buhari, please, evidences abound everywhere. I studied in Zaria and I know first hand what happened in 2011 and I also know what was planned in 2015.

I also know what happened with the Shiites in Zaria. Anyone supporting this blood sucking government is either very ignorant or paid to do so.
After killing the Shiites, the blood thirsty Nigerian Army were not satisfied, they had to sack us from our estate for two days doing room to room search to kill any surviving Shiites.

I don't think you quite understand what is going on. In a nutshell what the unchecked violence means is that: You simply cannot have democratic elections in that region void of religion and ethnicity because the consequences of a non-indigenous candidate winning are dire and can be truncated at the push of a button, the religiois and ethnicity button.

If protests were the end to all means, proper contests can take place but until the potential for unbridled violence is curtailed true democracy cannot work. And how do you curtail violence without justice. Who has been held accountable for the several deaths in the past.

Of a single political elite can spur such violent backlash, it will take the magnimity of elites in that region to 'permit'candidates of other regions to win in their localities. It is like your opponent in a boxing match faking being beaten inorder to let you win. Is that a contest.

That has been the mentality in that region since independence. They 'let' others rule when they desire to and take 'their' power whenever they want. The alternative is violence which the state cannot seem to curtail. Only restructuring can solve this problem.Without that democracy is most parts of Nigeria will collapse in a few years. That is what IPOB is trying to emulate by seeking to control elections or not in the east. Is that good.

Have you ever watched a dog and a monkey fight? They will fight repeatedly, get tired, rest ,wake up and continue fighting again.

It was base on this observation that the Hausa man used the analogy for "Kare Jini,Biri Jini". This to idiomatically express a situation where there are no Victor,no vanquished in a tussle.

I hv seen several people wrongly apply this expression hence the need for clarity. Biri in hausa does not mean baboon. Rather it describes all the classes in the monkey clan.
