I was there in Bauchi when this regrettable event took place. I nearly lost my life. Only one thing gives me solace. Whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall reap. Love and forgiveness is the only way forward. My heartfelt condolences goes to the families of all the Corpers who lost their lives. They are unrecognized National Heroes. How many more blood shed do we need before we stop these hate speeches and allow love and peace to reign. I rest my case |

All yorubads live in yorubad land. The 5south east state contributes nothing but any time you hear Biafra, you started weeing on your pants. What do you have in osogbo, abeokuta, Ibadan, akure and the rest? Nothing, all sleepy towns. Don't mention Lagos cos it was a former federal capital. If I call Lagos no man's land now you start crying. Abeg shift. hollah123: |

Kanu is nobody's god. People respect and admire him because he has been bold enough to confront the status quo. He may have insulted some tribes which I admit is wrong but I think there was a time I read he apologized for those insults. mayorchelsea: |

My neighbors in the east are yorubads. One of them sells provisions. Every Nigerian has a right to live wherever they choose. This thing you just typed is why some people call Lagos no man's land. Be careful. Finally, these yorubastas are a bunch of idi abani. hibeekay007: |

Dindondin:The question is, who are presiding officers of our elections? For now corps members are presiding officers and they are the ones being used to rig election at pooling units when they know it would be difficult at the collation center. The Killing is partially caused by our judiciary, if the judiciary have been up and doing, no one would want to take lay into his/her hand, instead they sometimes sell justice to highest bidder. Same unrest would have played out of Kenyans had know hope on its judiciary. The judiciary should try and up their game and put justice rightly. Again the accredited words of monkey and baboon will soak in blood by Buhari was said in 2012 and not 2011 or 2013. I erroneously entered 2013 instead of 2012. Check the news here https://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/2015-ll-be-bloody-if-buhari/ try and read his statement and what informed these words. |

UnchangeableGod:Oga, if you really can read and understand English very well as you implied; then you should have understood why I challenged anyone to prove that Buhari meant he would discriminate against any section of the country in his famous 97% vs 5% speech. That notion was in fact an absolute big lie, a deliberate fabrication and misrepresentation of the president by his detractors. Anyone with the patience to listen/read the entire speech/transcript (from A - Z) would easily come to the conclusion that his enemies merely took out only the first part of his speech containing the 97% and 5% and essentially twisted and quoted it out of context to give it the opposite meaning; while completely leaving out the middle and concluding part containing the president's true intended message. It is a pity that many ppl are far too lazy to listen and judge the entire speech for themselves but instead blindly relying on this fat lie and propaganda against the president. It is also a pity that the mainstream southern owned media (who should have known better) are also shamelessly part and parcel of this propaganda. It is even more pitiful that the president's image makers have so far not done sufficiently enough to debunk this damaging myth and therefore abort its malicious propagation. Like I said before; I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. |

ItsMeAboki:Sorry, you are the one typing rubbish. I listened to the interview. What middle and concluding part are you referring to? That the president said the constitution mandates him to appoint a minister from each state, as such he cannot marginalise any region even if he intends to? Meaning that he grudgingly appointed ministers from certain States because the constitution forces him to do so? If that is not what he meant, what about his other appointments so far? Have they not been skewed in favour of the 97% regions and shown his distain for those from the 5% regions? His media men could not do anything about this though Mr Femi Adeshina attempted to. It was medicine after death because it was said to an international media. To be candid, the president of a heterogeneous country like Nigeria has no business making such divisive speeches, not in Nigeria but in far away United States. The funniest part of a the whole scenario is that this question was about his plans for the restive Niger Delta, not even on voting pattern since elections were over and a new government in place. It was not about which region he would favour more than others. The journalist thought she was interviewing a Nigerian president, not knowing she was actually interviewing a 'northern' president. Is that not hate speech to say that as a president, you will not treat everyone equally because of how people voted? The majority of the national cake is even from the same 5% region. Hate speech is wrong, is evil, is dangerous but this present government has no moral authority to preach against hate speeches. They need to apologize first, show good examples and then we might take them serious. From your moniker, you are an Aboki. But let us put ethnic sentiments aside and say the truth so that it will set us free. Thank you. |

UnchangeableGod:Just stick to the issue at hand, which is about the content and intent of the president's (97% vs 5%) speech. Here is the transcript of the speech; and if you are a good student of English Comprehension; then lets see how you or anyone can twist what he said and give it an entirely opposite meaning - just be honest for once. Below is the text of the president’s statement in question. The ones in bold is the part that was deliberately left out. “I hope you have a copy of the election results. Literally constituencies, for example, that gave me 97 per cent, cannot in all honesty be treated, on some issues, [the same way as] some constituencies that gave me five per cent. I think these are political realities. While certainly there will be justice for everybody; everybody will enjoy their constitutional rights, where the party in constituencies that by either sheer hard work made sure they got their people [to vote] and ensure their votes count, they must feel that the government has appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. I think this is really fair. [But] By the constitution, no state can be excluded from government, so there is no way even if I were to show gratitude to those constituencies that voted heavily for me against those that didn’t even vote for me, they have the protection of the government. And I have made an undertaking that I belong to everybody, I belong to no body. If I come clearly and marginalise a certain group because they didn’t vote for me then I have already contradicted myself and I am sure people will be quick to pick that against me.” — Here is also the video clip for those who want hear directly from the horse's mouth and not rely on the above transcript. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm_VEkxyiKw Now lets analyse the entire speech: you will notice that the first part containing the 97% vs 5% merely lays the foundation concerning the expected political realities and norms of rewarding those who voted for you - i.e. that was what usually happens after such victory. The middle part of his speech allayed the fears of anyone with such anticipation by referring the protection of the constitution. The final and concluding part of his speech clearly spelt out his own intention on what he intended to do - which was NOT TO MARGINALISE ANYBODY by referring to his earlier quote of belonging to nobody and belonging to everybody. How anyone could be so pathetically dumb to miss or misinterpret his clear message is amazingly shocking to say the least. |

ihatesycophant:I agree on the year PMB spoke abt baboon & dog issue. But you are wrong for justifying the killings of corners because some of them were used for electoral frauds in 2011 elections. The corpers that did electoral frauds doesn't deserve death. More so, not all corpers took part in the fraud. So... How is attacking corpers justified? Why didn't the northern mobs storm INEC offices, state govt house or their opposition party's (PDP) members? Why the innocent Seun, Nkechi, Ebube etc that came for NYSC in Katsina & Bauchi States? Don't justify evil for evil. The failure of the judiciary &, electorates should not be avenged on corpers but on the FG. Those northern mobs of 2011 are cowards! They attacked the weak! Mr man, don't justify the brutality of the Northern electoral mobs of 2011. It's pure wickedness. The northern Nigeria is volatile as a result of poverty, hate speeches & preachings they receive from their Imams & Political leaders. |

Dindondin:Have said umpteen time in this forum that it was satanic and unlawful for any one to have taken law into one's hand and kill another person in any disguise. However, individual mentality to issues quite different. Anger and frustration management of individual varies. The way Mr. A would stomach issue, Mr. B may find it difficult to do so. Have we not seen a well intelligent person do things ordinarily you never expected. That's individuals differences. That's how it happened across board. Hope you heard the killing of Nigerians in South Africa? Is it also Hausa or Fulani killing them? No, that's to tell you madness exist everywhere if not properly managed. Was there no killing in Rivers state, Akwa Ibom and other part of the country in 2015? Until we learn to play the game according to the rule, we'll continue to experience such not only in Nigeria but all over the world. Until judiciary up their game and make people have high hope in them that justice and fairness can be gotten from them even if temporarily lost, people may continue to take law into their hands. Same would have happened in Kenya if not by the intervention of their judiciary. Why would the number that voted less than the result announced. All these birth unrest and make people take law into their hands. You guys should also stop using 2011 killing as a pointer, political killings dated back the first dispensation and not limited to 2011. Funnily, it was even more high in 2015 than any other times but no one talk about it because it was less in the north. Or shall we say, the people killed during election in the north their lives are more sacrosanct than those killed in the south. You guys need to respect the sanctity of life everywhere it happens and talk about it and not limit it to a section. |

ItsMeAboki:First and foremost, the 'reality' of treating some constituencies better because they voted for you is out of the question. It is only vindictive people who do so. Olusegun Obasanjo did not do so against the Southwest after the 1999 elections, Goodluck Jonathan did not apply this philosophy against the North after the 2011 elections in spite of northern protests and mayhem. Secondly, a leader is a leader of all after elections. It is not just the constitution that should force a leader to be fair to all and prove opponents wrong. Thirdly, the actions of the president so far in terms of appointments really contradicts his 'I belong to all' rhetorics. He has shown that he belongs firstly to the Muslims, to the North and the APC in that order before other Nigerians. Action, they say, speaks louder than words. Thanks. |

sikells:I beg to differ on this being a hate speech. I was saying the north is stronger than the south. I don't what's hate in that again. And I also disagree on the north having more elderlies, they procreate more than we do that's a fact. And the south has a longer life expectancy than the south. Hence the south has more elderly than the north. We shouldn't turn Nigeria into a country where one's speech is tagged "hate" just because you don't wanna hear it. This is just an overkill... |

UnchangeableGod:The reality is that you and your ilk stubbornly choose to block your minds from accepting the truth in preference to all shades of your own propaganda and prejudices. Apparently, such trait is inline with the typical Igbo mindset which is more comfortable stuck in the victim's mode where it can feed from an innate sense of persecution that manifests in their natural propensity for quarrelsomeness and endless wailing against phantom cheating and marginalisation. Its a pity because no one can compete with a fixated mindset that only accepts what it wants to believe even against incontrovertible evidence. After having successfully just debunked this calculated malicious lie against the president you conveniently switched to yet another one which it too had already been severally debunked - for the last time get this clear; THE PRESIDENT NEVER SAID HE WOULD DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THOSE THAT DIDN'T VOTE FOR HIM NOR HAD HE SINCE BEEN FACTUALLY DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THEM - stop believing and spreading these lies, the facts are out there and verifiable to anyone who isn't lazy to investigate. |

ItsMeAboki:You are lying. The president is discriminating against those not from his region, religion, tribe and political party in his appointments, dealings, including in his so called fight against corruption. It may not be connected with the 2015 presidential elections but the facts on ground is that he

d is a sectional leader. The most annoying thing is thst he keeps on chorusing that the unity of the country is not negotiable when his actions are divisive more than unifying. You are comfortable with that because it is favouring your people, isn't it? If you sincerely believe the president is being fair to all, then may the way the president of Nigeria is treating the Southeast region in particular be your portion anywhere you go and in whatever you do. Please say AMEN to prove to the world that you are sincere. NOTE: My motive is not pray a bad prayer for you.
