True, maybe an adequate system of adoption can help with adequate vetting. My worry is that some Nigerians unfortunately tend to criminalise even the most ethical of attempts. You are right that nowhere is perfect but what's for sure is that there are many childless marriages that a legitimate system could help.

I really hope Nigeria has an adequate system of adoption not just allowing people to adopt a child because they think she is cute, pretty or beautiful. I find that worrying to be honest. What if she wasn't 'beautiful' though or she was a 'cute' boy?

In developed countries you can't just turn up at an orphanage and say you want to adopt a girl child because she is beautiful that statement alone may raise professional eyebrows.
