Hi guys,

I was wondering if one can change location after receiving PR through provincial nomination since some provinces require one to sign a declaration to live and work in that province.

Thanks

Good afternoon house. Please help with these questions from a friend:
1. One of my banks (with my salary account) refused to give a letter that complies with CIC standards. I therefore withdrew the money, about CAD6500 to my other account. How do I prove that the money is mine and that it is not a lump deposit?

2. If I am able to prove the CAD6500, coupled with CAD3000 given to me via a gift deed, do I also have to prove the source of the other amount, given that I had some cash in the other account before?

Explain it in ur LOE just as you have explained to us. In your statement of account you can highlight that credit and simply state u had the money in another account and u lumped it up into one account.

Shebi u work, u dont av to explain ur source of income, your money na your money. Just d
have the person giving the 3000 CAD do a letter of gift deed

Since the account is your salary account, still print the statement and include in your LOE that the FI stated that they do not give CiC compliant letters

I asked this from a representative of Nova Scotia at an information session last week.
He said once you have been given Permanent Residence, you are a Permanent Residence and can live anywhere in Canada... However because you have already sign a declaration that you wish to live and work in the province, you should endeavor to live in the province for some time (no time frame though) and then you can move on. But the province would rather prefer you live within the province.

my take from what he said is, if you get a PNP and after approval, try and live in the province for maybe 3 months, Open account, apply for Social Insurance Number, etc... just to prove that you have lived there.

Yes. I paid to WES for my brother early July. Was charged @#298/CAD then. But u need to visit an Access bank ATM machine and follow the instructions to sort the 'verified by visa' clearance for online transactions.
Hello house please I need a little clarification with wes payment, I saw international courier for $75 and standard shipping for $7, under what circumstances can one use standard shipping, is it only for Canadian address. Also would they send a softcopy to my mail.
Also if my transcript is ready and I don't have the reference number yet, is there any harm sending it or should one wait for the reference number?

*The international courier is if you want your report to be sent to you via DHL/UPS etc which should get to your Nigerian address in 2-5days. While the standard shipping is the regular post office mail and might take up to 4weeks or more before arriving your Nigerian address. (If e no loss in transit )

*Yes, a soft copy of your report will be sent to your email

*It is expected that your reference number be quoted on every correspondence you are sending to WES. i.e. when you're sending copy of your degree certificate and also when your school is sending your transcript.

Thanks a lot!

cochtrane:

I'm not the best to answer this since it's outside my experience, but I could give it a shot. I tried to do some research on your questions.

1. Every evidence I found points to the fact that you should have added the newborn before PR, If the baby came before. The instruction is to "inform immediately" circumstances change. Nevertheless, I guess you can still add a family member, at least after issuance of visa, but before obtaining PR status. A change in family composition may also affect eligibility because of settlement funds.

Anyways, read here. It has all the details you need. What you need do now is simply inform CIC.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/refuse.asp

3. If you are not using PEBC, I guess you can use any of WES, ICAS, etc. They'll all give the same evaluation, bachelor's 4 years. Your decision will depend on whether it's a UK/US school where transcripts and verifications are processed faster or on whether you can't wait on verification.

If you have contact in your school, please don't bother waiting, just do the personal followup. ETX won't do anything, at least from my experience and what others have posted here. Your transcript and ECA might even be ready in that 1 month.

Noted. Thanks.

Hello people, I want to confirm if someone can get points for an MBA (with merit) awarded by a UK university but via distance learning. A colleague of mine wants to start the process, but she is scared that her age-36 and unmarried status may not allow her get enough points. She doesn't want to start the process except she is convinced that her MBA can get her additional points. Am I advising her correctly if I tell her to go on? Will WES evaluate her MBA?
Thanks.

@GlitteringStar good day, kindly help me calculate mine as well as i am having issues getting the calculation right.
profile:
age:27
experience: 2years (would have been 5years but had different roles tho in same organisation. but just one noc has full two years)
ielts score: 8,7.5,6.5,6.5 LSRW
education: Mba.
Thanks.

Hello Mzjennypher,

This is the breakdown of your score:

Age: 12 points
Experience: 11 points
Language (IELTS): 22 points
Education: 23 points

Total score: 68 points

Verdict smiley: You are eligible-----http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Note: The above is to check for eligibility

Using the CRS tool (with the assumption that you are a single applicant), your CRS score is 394 points

Conclusion: Even though you are eligible, I will advise you to retake your IELTS test and aim to score a minimum of 8 in Listening and 7 in RSW in order to increase your chances of getting an ITA (if you don't want to spend a whole year in the pool waiting for ITA or going through PNP route)

Lol @borrow ear grin grin.

Listening has always been my strong point. For IELTS General Training, my weakness is speaking [s](maybe because I'm an introvert who doesn't talk much [/s]embarassed)

The main TIP for listening is "full concentration is needed when doing your test".

Lol. I included a professional certificate that was not assessed and would not be acceptable. This gave me an extra 33 points that if when removed would make me fall below the lowest CRS and could have jeopardized my application.

Thought it better to remove the cert, re-enter the pool and wait for an ITA I can be confident to apply for.
