A twitter user seeking a safe future for posterity got a response from the Nigeria Police and we'd like to know if you agree with the security agency.

@moverick said.. "I want a future where a police officer will not manhandle my son or shoot him just because he wears a beard or is carrying a laptop".

and Nigeria Police Force responded saying.. "The future u want is here. Educate ur children to always submit to police search if requested cos everybody is a suspect".

Yes... Everyone is a suspect,but the Nigeria police are not only the biggest suspects,but also the biggest criminals.

With dis statement comin from d NPF, there is a need for an overhaul

Police should embrace investigative policing instead of its interrogative side (battering and forcing arrested suspects to say and write things)

A debate for the next 2 weeks or so... If the police carry out their duties diligently and respectfully then I don't see why one wouldn't want to allow the law takes it place when police asks for a routine search on you. But not subjected to molestation though. It's a pity most people have seen Nigerian law enforcement agents as incapable and disgraceful that they are willing not to obey the law.

They are right. Once I start looking for anything in my house, I always tell everyone including my husband you are a suspect.
