The last time IPOb had a crisis in Onitsha, some hoodlums went ahead to set 4 Dangote trailers on fire. Now again, some idiots have gone ahead to set Dangote trailers on fire unprovoked. And we begin to wonder why Dangote is skeptical about placing any of his serious investment in the SE? ![]() While I would have simply dismissed this as an act by daft illiterate hoodlums, reading through this thread reveals that even some educated persons approve of the destruction of Dangote's properties as a sensible way to protest against government. God help us! |

goaldynboy:On the contrary, the semi-hunchback albino who came back from Peckham London to incite peaceful Igbos against the rest of Nigeria is the one who's about to set the Igboland on fire. Buhari simply won a democratic election against GEJ. The anger caused by that election result should have since quenched while we wait till 2019 (cos I doubt PMB would be able to even rule beyond 2019). But whilst the anger of the election result was still fresh in the minds of majority Igbos, Kanu capitalises on the mood and steps in with his hate inciting preachings; and that has kept the anger and crisis fresh till date (more than 2 years after). |

Though we fall daily, Though the soldiering numbers wane at the battle ground, Though the injured continues to pour in, Though the barbaric Carthage rages on, non-stop. Though the Hoards of murdering hades from the North linger on our street. Though the East lay in siege and the South-West in awe, nay of fear Though her streets, markets, homes bleeds and flow with the blood of the innocent. Though the maddening noise to stop rent the ears and media-both social and non-social alike. Howbeit though, He steels his nerves, deafen his ears, hardens his heart Though convinced his action is pretentious, sacrilegious and biased The more he screams death! death!! death!!! to the East. The macabre dance of death is cheered on by blood thirsty audience whose roots are in Rome. A dance, nay a ritual dipped in the macabre blood of the innocent forged in operation python dance. A reminder of treacherous past, of bloodletting and the most heinous war contrived. Spartans, Nay Northern gladiators converged in thoughts and brutality. All Hail, the conquerors of the East. For you have sowed the blood moons and may you reap a thousand more deaths. The pardoner of the Northern marauders May you reap the indignation of Edom and the kiss of death for appreciation. |

obailala:The several deaths the ill-safety conscious Dangote trucks have caused is enough to have sanctioned the company for their poor safety records. On a daily basis, we read of multiple deaths and accidents these trucks have on the roads and in the South-West in particular, but no inquisition, industrial safety investigation or sanctions have been raised against Dangote. Why? He supplies the South West and other regions millions of investment but kill and maim daily helpless Nigerians from these regions. If for only these reasons, the SE do not need such investment. |
| Re: Soldiers And IPOB Clash In Abia, Dangote Truck On Fire (Video, Photos) by obailala(m): 3:25pm On Sep 13, 2017 |
isnovic:So because Dangote's trucks are involved in accidents, is that your wise justification of why random Dangote trucks should be set ablaze by ipob hoodlums at the slightest unconnected provocation?... Go back and read what you just wrote, does it make any sense to you? Was it because of an accident that the Dangote trucks burnt in Onitsha and the one burnt yesterday were burnt?... And who told you the SE does not need investments? Is this some sort if resentment for Dangote due to his success or due to his tribe?.... What sort of childish reasoning is that? |
| Re: Soldiers And IPOB Clash In Abia, Dangote Truck On Fire (Video, Photos) by isnovic(m): 3:55pm On Sep 13, 2017 |
obailala:Is it only in the SE that Dangote's truck has been burnt. The truck is only collateral damage and nothing more. Same fate other have suffered why the singular reference. Dangote knows why he is not investing in the SE and the SE don't need sympathetic investor. Dangote imports coal from SA, but the coal in his backyard, Enugu is comparatively of similar quality as the SA. Ask yourself why an investor would rather spend the millions in import and transportation rather than develop the one at home as backward integration to his Cement manufacturing companies. The bias is a silent agreement, but the Igbos are strong and do not seek sympathetic investors. |
| Re: Soldiers And IPOB Clash In Abia, Dangote Truck On Fire (Video, Photos) by obailala(m): 4:47pm On Sep 13, 2017 |
isnovic:Dangote trucks might be burnt in other places when they are involved in accidents claiming lives; how on earth are you attempting to compare that with repeated burning of his trucks by miscreants during ipob protests?... Is Dangote the FG?... And there is nothing 'singular' about 4 Dangote trucks being burnt in Onitsha in the last bridge head ipob protest and the truck burnt yesterday. Did you just claim Dangote imports coal from South-Africa to run his plants in Nigeria 'because of his hatred for the SE'?... What sort of nonsensical paranoid conclusion is that?... I suppose that is the sort of propaganda preached to those miscreants who keep burning Dangote properties in Igboland?... By the way, going by this your mentality, would you also say a notable petroleum importer like Ifeanyi Ubah for example 'hates the SS people', reason why he has chosen to import fuel instead of buying SS oil and setting up a refinery in the SS?.. Does that make any sense to you?... Are you aware Dangote only just got a license to start mining coal in Nigeria just 2 years ago and he's already set up a massive coal mine in Kogi state close to his cement factory?... There is a reason why many businessmen prefer importing products and raw materials instead of producing them in Nigeria, but your allegation of tribal hatred is the most ridiculous nonsense I've heard. The only reason a profit oriented businessman will go ahead to avoid a potentially lucrative business opportunity, but rather opt for less profitable ventures elsewhere is because he understands the financial/business implications and the inherent huge risks involved (e.g. incessant burning and destruction of his investments at the slightest unconnected provocation by senseless hoodlums purely due to a mixture of jealousy and tribal hatred. It's appalling that there are normal humans who would actually defend such senseless arson. What exactly is the difference between this barbaric act you are supporting and the actions of the almajiri touts who burn Igbo properties in Kano due to a cartoon in Denmark?... ANd finally, kindly stop this your 'Igbos dont need investment' nonsense, try and speak for yourself. |

[Quote] My dear did I hear you call me Miscreant? You have no idea!!!! Did you say incessant burning of Dangote's truck!!! what is your data based on? and in what situation was your data based on, normalcy or riot? Ifeanyi Uba's case buttress my points earlier, an investment is cited closest to factors of production, plus infrastructure for production/distribution. Where is the sea route in Nigeria currently, Lagos. Where is the coal deposit and where can the purest coal be mined currently in Nigeria and where else today do you have any existing coal mining infrastructure? Enugu. It is that simple. Forget your rationalization and line of best fit data narrative. Dangote's distribution and haulage truck ply the Eastern network daily and nothing happens to them. An isolated case is not a measure for reference. I maintain, the current situation is collateral damage and his company was just unfortunate. If he is a smart business man as you claimed, he remains unlabored. Why? That truck is already insured and situations like this is already provided for. Why crying more than the bereaved? Why tag the burning of the truck to Igbo hatred for Dangote and other investor and inferring that this attitude contributes to the lack/abundance of investment in the Eastern region. Till date there is no unhealthy investment climate, neither is there any insecurities in the East so your conclusion is based on faulty assumptions. The East has been deliberately sidelined in investment and infrastructural development and in some cases as a deliberate policy of starving it. Try suggesting that the Capital of Nigeria be taken to Enugu or Anambra and see what follows then. The very thought will drive the North to near madness. The South West will cope but will complain about it giving philosophical explanation why it is not the best decision. But the North will call for secession immediately or rain fire and brimstone until all is burnt to the ground. Even the very thought of it will be offensive and revolting to those accustomed to seeing instrument of power in their region. . Do not be gullible, from someone who has worked in the Government and as an Expat working outside the country currently, not all the things you see are explained in " how to be a Nigerian " manual neither are all things written in black and white. You must discern the unwritten intent and letters to understand what is really going on. I guess you also support the siege in Kanu's residence, and the intentional shelling of his home and if injured or killed, tie it to accidental discharge right? His fault?, His views are not exactly in tandem with the Government's and so he needs to be eliminated. Even if my views are not the same as yours, the world is large enough for different views. You defeat flawed idealogy by sound, intelligent argument which is thoroughly lacking in the present government. See like science, every action inherently produces sometimes equal and not so equal, opposite reaction and like chain reaction anyone of these actions set off in one place can reverberate far from the source of the action. As the Americans will say, if you don't want none, don't start some. |
