| My Message To Nigerians About Human Right Abuse by holymike47(op): 8:09pm On Sep 13, 2017 |
I am inspired to make this post after reading a thread on Nairaland about the statement made by Femi Felana regarding the deployment of military to Nnamadi Kanu’s house in Abia state. (https://www.nairaland.com/4051827/femi-falana-buhari-should-withdraw) and also regarding the first comment made by (Pythondancef) I was in the United State between September and late November 2014 and I never saw any military man in town or anywhere in their city all through my stay. I have been in Canada since early this year and I have also noticed that I have never seen any military man in town. I encourage other Nigerians in Diaspora to share their experience. I am not interested in whether you support IPOB or not, my reason of making this post is to make us know that it is really high time for us to demilitarize Nigeria in a democratic era. The deployment of troops to SE should be condemned by all well meaning Nigerians, whether you support IPOB or not. The human right abuse in Nigeria is too much and we should all rise up against it to secure our future. I have watch most of the IPOB processions, and I don’t see anything illegal in what they are doing and it happens everywhere in the world. And even if the president thinks what they are doing is illegal, we have the Nigerian police and Courts. I have seen several videos posted on Nairaland and on YouTube, on how Nigeria army beat and intimidate people for wearing their camouflage (even seen how a lady and a disabled man was mercilessly beaten by the Nigerian army). We come here to laugh and make jest of those things, encouraging them to harass, intimidate and violate our human rights the more. Even popular comedians make similar jokes of those things. This gives the army more ego and they have kept violating our rights. Here in Canada, I notice, civilians do wear army t-shirts and face caps. If you go to parties or public places, you will see these things a lot. I beg the Nigerian press, journalists, and all well meaning Nigerians to start this fight against human right abuse by the Nigerian military, it is really sad, painful and shameful to see these army intimidating civilians in a democratic era. I read Niaraland alot, but why I hardly make posts is because, even if you quote the relevant section of the constitution that support what you mean, people will still come out and insult you, and even from the post I referenced, Femi Felani, quoted all the relevant sections of the Nigerian constitution that says the president cannot use the military against any civilian, but I was surprised when people were still arguing. Please my brothers, let’s stand for what is right, irrespective of whether you support IPOB or not, lets kick against this deployment of military to a civilian populace. It may not directly affect you today, but think about tomorrow. Nigeria can only progress and have the promised change if our human rights are respected |

In all of those countries, how many of their citizens form a Militia or Secret Service without regard for the country? Have you blamed Nnamdi Kanu and the Ipob youths for their hate speeches which they have been spreading long before now? Bros.... You are a very partial human being. |

Go to any local airport in the states and for sure you would find a service man amongst the passengers. They are usually given priority boarding. |

[s] masterpolyglot:[/s] Lol. But Yoruba people have OPC (who carry guns). I hope you know what is militia sha. BSS who are designated to control crowds and gather information at Biafran rallies unlike gun carrying yet unbanned OPC and Sharia police. The ushers in your church are also militia using your context. ![]()

holymike47:Ibo Ipod hate speech and violence is not supported by human rights ![]() When you start hearing "if I see a Yoruba man, I'll kill him", then you have to be arrested. Ibos want love, but they show hate. Ibos want respect, but they disrespect others. Ibos want to feel amongst, but they sow seed of religious division. Ibos want progress in the SE, but they aren't taking their governors to task. Ibos want Ibo traders to invest in the SE, but they allow ipob menaces to control the SE. |
