Good day house,

Please I am new here but I have being following this thread. I would like to confirm something on this Canada journey. Is it true that one might/will not get a post study stay in Canada if the program is not up to 2 years. I have been offered a 18months master program in Royal Road University(RRU) and a 2 years post graduate diploma in Concordia university. I prefer the RRU offer as it relates directly to my first degree and my current profession.

Kindly advise me.

Choose the program thats related to your undergraduate program and work exp. Thats your best bet of bagging a TRV with all things being equal. Also, as per your question, an 18months program should be eligible for a PGWP.

Sorry for your delay fellow mathematician. I don't know how robust your SOP is concerning relating mathematics to scientific computing, but I think you really have to work on that.

Let me use myself as a case study, I did industrial mathematics first degree, statistics second degree and going for MSc biostatistics in Tue department of Community health science, which isn't too smooth for someone who doesn't know the terrain. I actually applied for a PhD but was granted a MSc admission. My GI st denial was partly due to the fact that I tried to conceal the fact that my admission didn't not merit a PhD so that the VO will not see it as a red flag, still it was seen as one.

When I reapplied, I took my time to research into relating mathematics to statistics and then to biostatistics and explain reason why I was given a MSc admission instead of PhD that I applied and how my supervisor had advice I accept the admission to be able to do some prerequisite in epidemiology which is score course in biostatistics in the department of community health sciences where my admission letter came from.

I also used a letter of explanation to stress the relationship between between my previous academic degrees and my prospective degree in Canada.

You can try that, with God's favor it will fly, you can reach me on abestine@gmail.com if you require fine tuning your SOP or need my sample as guide... Ire o

Austinpee4:

1. You'll have to wait for CIC to request a new offer letter with a new start date from you. Usually such request means a positive review on your application have been completed. So be hopeful and wait for them.

2. Sometimes, such scenerio happens. As with most auto set replies and notifications, once there is an activity(Your application is viewed, opened or an officer adds an update to your account), it automatically notifies the owner of the account(Applicant) of an update using the email address used in such account.
(same thing when someone tries to hack your yahoo account and you get a notification of an attempt).

However, It is usually an indication that an officer has opened your file. The actual update will come later, so keep checking.

Lastly, since you submitted already, i don't think it would matter right now the inconsistencies in your degree, work and proposed program. See what their decision is on your application first.

Regards

Please I need your help , how do I reach you?

I think the delay is all from Uni Ibadan. Not sure how they operate but a similar thing happened to my cousin who applied for hers in UNN. After some weeks of the verification delay, I went to the records office only to find out that usually, applicants are required to pay 10k verification fee ie after paying for the transcript (mind u, they didn't even bother communicating this to her). I paid the 10k and in 3 days, hers was verified. So I advise you find out from Uni Ibadan what might be causing the delay.

My cousin also mentioned something wrt the whole WES verification process having a deadline, after which applicant will have to start the process afresh. Not sure about this, but u can ask to find out more.

Cheers

mehn you mean it took just 3days? today makes mine a week and i havent heard from WES or UNN. did you pay for the verification via UNN iverification portal?

inshort pls i sent you a pm.

√√√Greetings to you all. @AUSTINPEE4,MAZI OF OTTAWA, CANADIAN NURSE, MCOBEX, JNYUWA, THESOJ(BABA), GUIZNAIRA,. and much more i greet u bosses.
√√√

* Please i have this question to ask, my last application, I was asked in the study questionnaire Do i have anyone in Canada?... I said N/A

√ Meanwhile i have an Elder brother who resides at Canada for over 10years now and a citizen of Canada.
He owns a large production company at Newfoundland and serial different businesses across British Columbia and Newfoundland respectively.

√ Now, he wants to be my main sponsor in my next application and provide his bank statements both his personal & business statements, business assets and proof of ownership of businesses in Canada. He plans to use his immigration lawyer to follow my application up this time.

*The immigration Lawyer over there assured him that it's very much possible for him to be my sponsor and It will have no negative effect on my application.

√ I have been Refused Visa before, which most of you here know about. My last application was refused based on limited proof relationship with sponsor and insufficient funds and travel history according to my GCMS NOTE. My last application i used my maternal Uncle and he is not willingly to transfer 10k CAD to me for my living expenses and pay tuition at once.

√ As for my home ties, I'm currently working in an Electrical contracting company as a SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR and my siblings birth certificates and International passport Bio data pages as a proof of home ties. I'm going for undergraduate studies in COMPUTER SCIENCES (MUN).

* Please guys how possible will this look?

√ As my Elder brother is willingly to send 10k CAD to me as living expenses into my dorm account and pay tuition fees as well.

√ So, I plan to use my Elder Bro as the main sponsor while my Maternal Uncle as a CO SPONSOR also providing his bank statements, letter of sponsorship and landed properties because all my bro assets are based in Canada. I just want to use my uncle as a CO SPONSPOR because of his landed properties here in Nigeria. Which will also serve as a home tie to me.

Gurus, see this..... My Notes just landed.

I guess this CIC people just do what they like.... I cannot say much but well, everything happens for a reason.

I am sure they didnt go through the additional documents I provided, like parent's Retirement Letter from Government (this alone should make them know that funds wont come in as it used to during service year but property documents worth more N30m was included), Source of funds was Sales of Property with the Property Sales Deed included, my employment letter (been working for 6yr+ and a fair enough remuneration to serve as economic ties). Been denied visa once and it was stated, and haven't travelled out before. A detailed SOP stating purpose of visit with Dad's sponsorship letter stating source of funds with proof inclusive. What do they want again? Why was purpose of visit even ticked at the 1st place?

Apparently, when pressure is much, I think they just do anyhow, without having to check every document provided of them. Wheeewwww.... CIC. It's well with them o.

Sir, firstly I will always commend you for your zeal to succeed and willingness to know more. Although, I remembered some people and I gave you some advice the other time and am really happy you are seriously working on it.

Pls at the last bold above, long post is not a crime and I noticed that I personally gain more from long post whereby you tend to explain your case into details except if the moniker repeats words.

At the FIRST bold above, I believe we also discussed it the last time but now that it involves an uncle based in Canada, I believe @thesoj can ascertain more on the credibility of using sponsors in Canada based on his experience.

But left for me, let the sponsor show more commitment in writing to buttress his reason for willing to sponsor you and don't forget to work on the other things we all discussed earlier on when you were delayed.

All the best and don't forget to tell it to God in prayer.

Oga,

I can't feel the pain of your delay but I definitely understand how it feels.

With the notes, you can see that it doesn't have anything to do with your studies yet they ticked purpose of visit which means so many things are characterised with the word 'purpose of visit'

Like the @thesoj said earlier on,i think you will have to work on it again and make sure you clarify this points you gave in your new SOP with a kind of Clarification pointing these things to the VO.

It's possible maybe they aren't convinced enough.

It is well my brother.

Hello guys, I got my gcms note few mins ago. Here is the actual reason for refusal. "After careful review of the application and supporting documents provided, program or study in Canada does not appear to be consistent with previous education and employment history. Applicant appears to have limited recent travels which could demonstrate a history of having traveled and returned. Applicant has not provided compelling reason for study in Canada. Unclear why the applicant would incur cost of relocating to Canada to rather than undertake similar course of study in country of residence. Concerns applicant is using study permit as means to facilitate entry to Canada rather than educational advancement. Based on this evidence provided am not satisfied app is a genuine student who intends to complete course of study and would depart at the end of authorized stay. Refused" is there a way to tackle travel history?

Thanks for your contribution. What I mean instead is that my previous application was 3 months old before it got rejected. I am sure CIC must have done some checks. Will that result to a faster processing time?

The time is not for checks alone done when necessary, it's also for reading your paperwork, sometimes two VOs or more reading your application to reach a consensus when an application presents a tough call. These can lead to varying times. That said, there are no guarantees on processing time, it could be shorter or longer than the first time you applied. If I were you, I will put my time to doing something productive than worrying about an application which I have no control over after it's been sent out. Go enrol into a computer class, get a job , learn to play a musical instrument or do something worthwhile as you wait. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:7

It's false. You can get visa any period of stay in Canada. An academic year is 8 months in Canada, so your 18 months period of study is well over the two years mark VOs generally like and feel more comfortable issuing out visas for graduate studies.

I will have to say to prevent all these multiplicities of sponsors, just pay and show CIC that you are genuine with a receipt of payment. Saying you have nobody in Canada and now having a sponsor in Canada might be a death knell to your application. I will advice you stick to old sponsor and pay up and explain relationship with old sponsor in a detailed statement of explanation.

Your UCI should be the same. The only change should be in the application number. Anyway, this shouldn't be something to worry about. They will still use the UCI you had. Possibly an error on their part. Nothing scary.

And when old sponsor is limiting the release of some of his personal information? which could have one way or the other affected his application.

Are you now giving him an advice to still use him?

There are so many people who can sponsor themselves but its just too complicated because of the rigorous and strict measures CIC are putting in place.

so i see nothing bad changing sponsor only if you can convince the Visa Officer. Moreover, all new applicatons are treated differently but that doesnt mean they wont make refrence to previous application. Nevertheless, I havent seen where the VO says there s inconsistency in the Sponsor the applicant is using but rather the applicant didnt show enough convincing bond with the sponsor.

Go ahead my brother just convince the VO.

Boss,
I understand your point. But the boss misrepresented about not having a relative in Canada. Now he is making a u-turn in using a 'non-existing' relative in Canada as his main sponsor.
In this instance, @jnyuwa is right. He should stick to his present sponsor while his brother or relative in Canada pay for his fees and upkeep. Then he has all receipts to show as proofs.

But, if he has a tangible reason for saying he has no one in Canada in his first application, then he can go ahead with the new sponsor... but wetin e want tell CIC, say he forget say e get person the first time?

Cc: @Frankrobbn1

PS: People we are still saying this, try as much as possible to put up a straight forward application. You owe yourself that.

You not critically thinking these stuff out. The VOs will jump on him after saying he doesn't have anyone in Canada and now using his maternal uncle in Canada as new sponsor. Nothing wrong in changing sponsors, nobody said there is anything wrong in changing sponsors. Just wrong in using someone that is a relative in Canada when no relative in Canada has been checked in previous application. And yes it will not hurt if he used old sponsor. Just have maternal uncle pay up fees and transfer money into domiciliary account using first uncle already stated as sponsor. If there must be a change in sponsor, can't be the maternal uncle in Canada. It's potentially explosive information.
