NIGERIAN AIR FORCE DEPLOYS AIR ASSETS IN SUPPORT OF EXERCISE EGWU EKE II

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgtkDpMEmDQ

In line with its commitment to national peace and security, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed some of its air assets, including the Alpha Jet aircraft, to its 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt, to support the ongoing Nigerian Army’s Exercise EGWU EKE II (PYTHON DANCE II). The essence of the deployment is to provide the necessary air cover to the ground troops to enhance overall operational cohesion and efficiency.

It would be recalled the operation began officially on 15 September 2017 and was planned to cover the entire South East Region of the country. The wide expanse of the exercise area and the request by the Nigerian Army for close air support made the involvement of the NAF inevitable. Exercise EGWU EKE II is aimed at combatting security challenges in the Southeastern part of the country. The deployment of the air assets in support of the Nigerian Army is thus in fulfillment of one of the constitutional mandates of the NAF.

Anybody remember these pictures;

AA-Gun captured from BHT, 2014.
The Black year

I used to stay away from the TV and the internet that year..The scorpions we had in power gave me reason to regret being Nigerian. Then I lost my godfather and I decided to come off the bench and pay homage to the heroes, didn't know how until I stumbled on this thread and Henrys'

I think the main aim of that operation is psychological and it won’t work... IMO

they are really going overboard with this, the sights and sound of an alpha overhead will compel parents who witnessed the war to call their kids to order.
Saw a strange looking alpha with a weird unusual sound somewhere at the north central last week.

Must be an upgrade, if the Air Force receives a new alpha we will get pictures from somewhere.

I’m starting to believe what one young man said that this whole operation is a probe, the military wants to see reactions and capabilities from IPOB.

The army also announced that this will become an annual exercise so there will be a python dance exercise next year and the year after that ....etc.

The total number of Alpha Jets in service is 15.

Approx. 9 are constantly deployed 3 in Maiduguri, 3 in Yola and 3 in Port-Harcourt. While the others are rotated.

Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jets are old with some Haven reached 38 years in service. 4 Alpha Jets were recently purchased as attrition replacement while the Air Force sought to purchase the Tucano to replace them in the Light Attack and Recon role.

We have been trying to buy the Tucano since 2012.

Why do I have this feeling DHQ is trying to turn the jf17 deal secretive. About 2 months ago, Pakistan said they were weeks away from delivering but since then, we haven't heard anything

I disagree with the post on that tweeter handle. The handle isn't a verified twitter account and cannot be passed as an official statement from Pakistan.

It is similar to Beegeagle tweeting on tweeter and been passed as fact.

No offence, he just constantly tweets nonsense on that tweeter handle.

When i was complaining about this 1 year ago, @Rugged7 was saying i should let him be.

What is the economic value of abandoning a blog, the same platform that made LindaIkeji a billionaire, to posting boring history nobody cares about and constant irrelevant rants on Tweeter.

He could simply have monetized that blog.

There was a debate I stumble upon, on TVC journalist hanghout about BHT and national security.

One of the journalist said we might be getting the super tucanos soon and I wonder why anybody is not saying anything about the jf17, till now.
