Lagos guy GPA don scatter like he is a blockhead. A very bright chap he is but his result is not saying same cos of the Nigerian factor.

The pictures of 'anything' will come later.
Forgot I needed to paste pictures, I stopped snapping.

What part is crazy, name two schools that are less crazy.

I am paying in-state, got an out-of-state waiver.

30k+ should be undergrad.

What do you mean by per session? They calculate using a year.
This is Texas AnM Kingsville.

A session is an academic year which is made up of two semesters. I may have checked the undergrad tuition. I'm always confused with the grad tuition because they calculate it per credit hour and i don't know how many credit hours will be needed to finish a graduate degree.

Just this evening, I saw the paper we Nigerians refer to as 'Kpali'.

It resembles an NYSC certificate with border designs of the dollar bill, a seal bottom left hand side with a golden emblem at the top middle.

Citizenship of my friend confirmed! smiley
Better pepper chicken from Houston was used to 'wash am'. kiss

Make I go look book, exam deh come.

Hi MackyNaija keep up the intel spirit bro!
Please I have some questions/requests:

Kindly post a brief review of some of your courses. Especially prerequisites for someone coming from a different major.
(I understand your program is Industrial Engineering)

Also, how easy/ difficult can it be for one to land a RA/TA/GA after the first semester. And what's the financial implication?(stipend and or tuition waiver?)

BTW, do you know or have you met one of our Nairaland elders with the moniker "icool" abeg help me tell am say his protégé sends greetings. wink

About getting an assistantship, it depends on it research work is currently ongoing.
For now, they prefer to take individuals that they have taught and who impressed them in the course so getting a G.A position is possible.

About pre-req, they don't demand or force you take any, they just tell you your gains from the course might be diminished cos you lack the basis but...

First few weeks, you will jack like crazy and get up to speed. I am glad I wasn't asked to take pre-reqs, it would have been a waste of time.

Protege?? grin I will send your regards. Stay safe man.

@ text in bold, do you know how much stipend is offered to GAs, and if it covers full tuition? I'm already simulating some figures here cheesy

Low key, it's seems I just confirmed my suspicion... grin Safe man!

I got here and realised they cleverly give only 19hrs, 20hrs is what entitles you to a tuition waiver.
A job I know gives 19hrs to avoid the tuition payment but offers opportunity for 'overtime'.

Continue to suspect your suspicion, na you sabi. tongue I deh a barbecue meeting, I deh come.

For this Yankee way I deh, my eyes don see something!
Positively though..

The whole program is moving at the speed of light, one course is on the verge of giving us the first of three exams.

What is different?
1. Cheat sheet is allowed - don't bother cramming formulas, just learn how to apply them. Bring a page of all formulas you would need.

2. Read between chapters 1 and 4. Don't stress yourself preparing on parts that are for Exam 2.

3. We were given a mock exam as an 'assignment' (not to be submitted) to show us what the actual exam would mimic. By my standards, na expo lecturer give us.
I actually thought about not posting point 3 but hell no!!! All experiences have to be captured here.

This American system na wa (positively)!

Is this usually how people are nudged in the right direction in every school?

This is so true. I remember you asked me how I made summa com laude. Don't worry , you will soon discover that it is literally handed to you. But you must remain focused.

Their education is for you to understand the basics. Most of the thing you would need at job will come naturally, there are so many learning resources.

PSA:

Arizona State University is now offering a tuition-free MBA program for both U.S. residents and international students.

Application fee for international students is $90. You'd also need to write an essay, take the GRE or GMAT, get transcripts, recommendation letters; and for international students, you may be required to take the TOEFL exam.

The program is quite a competitive one as only 14% of applicants were offered admission in the 2016/2017 academic year.

Application opens September 1st. For more info visit asu.edu

The flooding didn't get to this part.

A big city it is.

I passed through Port Aransas and Rockport that were directly hit, they had cleaned up most of the waste generated.

You'll only see extensive damage to property will roofing sheets and tree branches heaped up at some places waiting for pickup. That reminds you that 'Hurricane Harvey was here'.

This was a common sight in port harcourt...

This truck is soooo healthy, it overtook our bus.
These trucks climb hills like it is level ground, no smoking, roaring and crawling like the ones back home.
