1- with respect to nobody making scientific breakthrough or having no reputation among "enlightened" people on nairaland: this is a false belief. Do you know billyonaire or any other in real life? How can you be sure they are not that acclaimed scientist you admire?

There was a very great scientist here on nairaland, I know him personally. He has made major breakthroughs in the domain of medicine with the help of elementals beings. and is well known all over the world. He is no longer active on nairaland but still visits rarely.

I have learnt to listen to people on the merits of their arguments and the intellectual humility they exhibit when reeling out subjects that still are below the par of certainty.

Making statements that implies "the concept of time proportional to distance from sun" is not a problem, everyone is allowed to make mistakes or be naive about some certain matters but making such statement with a whole lot of arrogance and subtle condescension towards those who disagree is a lot of problem, that should not be funny at all.

I have read some of their posts and i must agree it is filled with already known stuffs then majorly lots of B.S that are in the least unsubstantiated. Yes i do not trust sorely in science but i distrust anything that contradicts science and outrages reason.

I have my reserves with some of the people you mentioned. But this your thread is unscientific, it is biased and motivated. Hence this is not skepticism, it is an attempt to feel superior, just as religious people do. At the end of the day there is no much difference.

Hello sir. Thank you for your response to this thread. However, the person the op is talking about has baffled me too by making statements such as 'Aliens from outer space came to steal gold from our planet so they could use it to protect themselves from Ultraviolet rays of the sun'. When I read that I was like wtf I'm in my senior year at the University and I have never, EVER heard of gold being used to stop UV radiation. I asked him what evidence he had for that, and how gold could possibly serve that purpose. His response? He started dribbling me around, taking me around in circles without providing any concrete answers.

He talks about his supposed personal experiences and expects us to take them completely without questioning them. And when we don't he gets mad and talks about how we 'know nothing' or something of the sorts.

In the last thread that the op was talking about, all he kept repeating was that we try and try and try it. But here's my problem with that. Apart from HardMirror rightfully saying that we could be tricked into seeing hallucinations as astral travel, I asked him why his emphasis was based on telling us to do something. . .why he couldn't first provide OBJECTIVE evidence. By objective evidence I mean logically convince us about how its possible and probably demonstrate something that would be visible to all of us. Because as it stood, it was no different from a pastor telling us to just keep 'trying to drop offerings and see what would happen'. Or that cult leader telling us to commit suicide and see what happens.

I am not a materialist but I am highly skeptical. Right now I see myself as a panentheist. That could change with more compelling arguments, and more experiences.

They have no idea about me at all. Personally, I am not interested in sharing any experi3nce with anyone. Those threads I pen down are not for everyone. There are people who have grown to the level that those words have meaning to them. Yet for others it is like introducing 2nd order Differentiation to a 6 months old baby.

It is not my duty to help the readers. And I have given them guideline on how to access the Astral Plane where they can alter their destinies but it seems most nairalanders are not only lazy to read books but too timid and fearful to jump out of their physical body BUT they are good at insulting those who read and dare to challenge death.

Like I said, I have nothing to prove to anyone. As long as it has helped me become a greater version of myself materially and spiritually.

you dont have to tell me about the important people here on nairaland. there are real scientists, doctors, millionaires, etc here. but that charlatan is no not one. he is a noise maker. look at the content of his posts, that is all you need to know him. i am sure the scientists you know and refer to where making meaningful contributions while they were active here.

I for one is a skeptic and for the people you called out, I find some of their post RIDICULOUS in that they are scientifically unproven and come off as a hodgepodge of concocted pseudoscientific crap. but I do not dismiss them because I know it is their subjective truth. that I haven't experienced something doesn't mean it is a lie
I have been trying to astral project after my former colleague at work started gushing about it. I think she learned from the Robert Monroe institute not sure though. I tell her the whole experience is all in her head but she believes otherwise and claims she's validated her projections. and that is exactly the same thing I wanna do, astral project not be cause I believe it isn't some hallucination but for validatory purpose.

Nobody can move anything on this physical universe by using the knowledge he derives from the inner universes. Science is needed to move things physically here. The highest thing he can do is to psychologically influence the minds of his viewers so that they think that he is actually moving something while he is only using illusions on them.

We are in a 3D universe where science is favoured. Going psychological is the only way to perform 'magic' here whereas going medical and psychological are the only ways to cure sicknesses here. Any claim of powers physical or ethereal should be backed with evidence. Replicable evidence. Not by evasive maneuvers that attempt to shift the burden of proof to the sceptic by asking them to try it out. Those with claims of such powers should be able to demonstrate it.
Imagine if the Wright brothers had told us to go and fly a plane ourselves instead of exhibiting it. Or if Tesla had asked us to go build an AC machine ourselves instead of exhibiting it. That's what these New Age clowns on Nairaland are doing. And sad part is they coat it with a veneer of pseudoscientific word salad.
