Spent Not less than 6 Months in Togo, I no see one "Pim" from their "nepa". And they still dey owe us.
Why we wey no dey owe dey still cry for light.

I was in Benin Republic for one month, i never experienced 1minute blackout.
I was curious to ask somebody who told me, the electricity in the country is Europe standard. He further said he doesn't have cooking gas nor kerosene stove because they all use electric stove to cook and i was almost crying.
God will help my dear Country

The fire that will burn all of you is still in Sango's office. When we, the owners of the light owe NEPA bills, you won't hesitate to come and disconnect us and pack wires away with soldiers assistance.
But when Benin and Togo are owing the same bill, you will urge them to please pay up and even devote more transmission lines for them.
At the end of the day, these two countries will come and charge their phones with our light and be voting against our jollof rice on the internet again. Imagine!
God is watching you all
just imagine

The search for dollars is the major problem in Nigeria, products and resources that are yet to meet up with local consumption will be sent abroad all in the name of export and bringing in dollars. the last time i went to the market, yam was so expensive because majority are been taking abroad for export. i believe what i believe is that when you have more than enough is when you should give to sell to other people.
The aim is to ensure that there is enough dollars to loot.

So that they won't dam the Niger River.

With this perennial flooding they might as well dam the damn thing and return the cables. How much power does Kainji and Shiroro pump out anyway.... and then those plants work to cap only during the rainy season...

bro fyi I'm not a Northerner. It's not like I'm saying NEPA are doing a 100% job but at least we can now boast of daily 12hours supply. Bro that is something oo compared to gej administration.

In as much as Nigerians are mad about this we also need to know that if Nigeria does not supply power to these countries, then they have right to construct a power generation dam along their course of River Niger which has a lot implications for Nigeria since the last course of the river is in Nigeria. If these countries do that then the level of the river may be low here in Nigeria and it's resourcefulness to Nigeria will be adversely affected.

But all the same the Nigerian government is to blame for the lack of adequate power supply locally.

Lol. Light that Nigerians are looking for is in far away Togo? When over here, they will come with ladder to cut your light.

I remember when they refused giving us light for a while, all of a sudden, they gave for two days, along side with the bill. One NEPA guy came to cut the wire, only to look down the next minute to see boys with matchete, patiently waiting for him to come down. Come see begging. cheesy cheesy

Oboy you no go kill me with laugh

is this not madness. selling our own electricity yet no payment, and NEPA dropping wires anyhow for minimal bills, the only reason why this is of concern is, someone is actually looking for cash to Embezzle. now they remember their debtors

That was exactly what I thought. Not supplying would mean them building a dam somewhere along the Niger; and that would raise some power and irrigation challenges for us.

Big shame to our leaders, why are they complaining? They kept Nigerians in darkness and ran after Benin and Togo becos they make more from them to steal from. Nigerian poor consumers, we should equally owe them (PHCN) for the insult. After all, we are paying to service Benin and Togo while we stay in darkness. Wicked leaders.

There's a similar issue in north-east Africa. Ethiopia is building the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Nile and Egypt has repeatedly threatened to bomb it because it would reduce supply of water to Egypt's Aswan High Dam.
