Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk this morning reveals that Students of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja have blocked the Lokoja-Abuja highway following a fatal accident involving a Dangote truck.

About five people have reportedly died in resulting multiple accidents. A student of the polytechnic is one of the casualties. There is serious tension now at international market, along Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The traffic light at the junction is has been vandalized by the angry youths. Police officers have since arrived at the scene and they fired tear gas to disperse the protesters but had to retreat when they exhausted the teargas they came with. As at the time of filing this report, a reinforcement of anti-riot policemen were on their way to the area now.

It was a terrible accident Dangote killed one of d student also lost one of my colleague, it's high time federal govt need to stop dangote trucks from operating in day time...dangote trucks has killed many people in dt area....too bad

Sometimes I begin to imagine whether Dangote's trucks do more harm than good because they aside the level of bad road they cause, those trucks have killed so many unaccounted people and so sad that nobody is saying anything about it.
