When u understand that it is not you but Christ In you makes you righteous because our righteousness are like filthy rags. If Christ is in you, then you can say Christ is my righteousness and if Christ is the standard for your righteousness, u can as well say I am righteous. Even the same bible sed As Christ is, so are we in this world, so we can claim Christ attributes upon our life
