But with passage of time, l hope and was hoping we have all learned a thing or two from our "past experiences" so we grow to be more mature. discerning and humble.

Question for you.

When wood floors were discussed on here before, some were concerned that sand brought in with shoes from the outside may scratch/damage the floor.

Is this a valid concern?

Sand can not scratch the surface just like that, same as tiles.but any low quality tiles and wooden tiles can easily fade off, it's used in some public places also, if you go to oyingbo magistrate court you will find it there. It's durable like other types of tiles such as Vetrified tiles, ceramic tiles and possibly porcelain tiles, when it's not properly layed you might have issue with it.

The issue here is the fact that labor is too cheap in Nigeria. I am guilty of that too because sometimes when I pay asking price to artisans I just have to add more to it just so that I can sleep at night.

Over here, when you are paying cement folks at $35 per hour then you only want to pay them for 2 hours instead of 8 hours

4 guys at $35/hour for two hours = $280.00, versus 8 guys at $35/hour for 8 hours = $2,240.00

Many of such design and construction projects may not have found themselves on Nairaland.

Truly, there is a wide difference between 'Aging gracefully' and 'growing Old'.

There are "specialist" Contractors who do Concrete Decking/German floor only.
All you do is provide all the materials for them. (Cement, Granite, Stone dust/Sand, Water).

They will bring their Machine and all Labourers required.
Saves you a lot of headache and from my experience, they are cost effective.

I luckily got his number from one of my old phones.
I used the man a few years back, in Lagos, very efficient (not sure if he travels outside lagos) - Kehinde 08103136914.
They are based in Mushin area of Lagos.
You can have a chat with him and see if he fits your needs.

Oh dearie, it’s looking like a week long emotional breakdown

In other 'News' l remembered we discussed this issue of having your own guns to protect yourself as it happens in America.

Some like me, felt that allowing everyone to own guns will not help in the long run.
I felt what we need to do is strengthen our Security Forces to be able to cope with any 'emergency'.

This brings me to the event that happened Yesterday in Mandalay bay, in Las Vegas.
The summary of it was that a man checked into a Hotel with as much as TEN high Calibre, Rapid Fire Rifles.
He shot and killed at least 50 people, with over 400 others with gunshot wounds (some in critical condition)!

This raises the question again: Is easy access to guns and proliferation of guns a positive thing, in the "wider picture" of things?
If Gun was readily and easily accessible in Nigeria, will it do more harm (like this event), than good, moreso in the areas of Home Owners protecting themselves.

Or is there a middle ground
