Say, I see that they offer cables too. Any insight to the quality of the cables?

Thanks bros, why all these our plumbers and electricians dey quote millions of Naira for electrical and plumbing work if these inputs(PVC pies) are fairly priced

That's the beauty of the web.

It's easier now to call the bluff of price gouging sellers and artisans because there is information readily available.

Talking about labour costing, how good is N80,000 for floor screeding/tiling and N40,000 for PVC or cement fibre ceiling for a 190sqm house?
Not outrageous for 190sqm depending on how good the tiler is and the location of the build. But you should be aiming to pay 300--350 per sqm

true that. i dont really use jumia [for buying things] but i go there to guage prices and track down promising vendors directly.

One just has to be careful not to ask for bids from vendors that feel that you owe them your first born child because you asked them to provide a bid.

Talking about fair pricing for workmanship for an electrician to lay conduit pipes on decking, what would you consider fair price? The deck is about 10m X 16m and it sits on 3 rooms, 3 bathrooms and a siting room.

Just wondering what may be fair pricing for a plumber at this stage too.

An electrician (coming from another state and region) gave a quote of 50k for a 10m by 11m deck (excluding materials) and I have told him NO...I will go for a price range of 20 to 25k Max. Is my negotiation fair?

Just sharing info.

I was at a park yesterday and I saw this gen in operation and it was super quiet. I was completely blown away with its quietness.

Not going to be cheap, not sure if they have it in Nigeria but man this thing is quiet. Noise is my number one beef with generators.

Cctv piping is included but no fire alarm. It's just on the decking though.

Good response sir. This is really helpful in guiding my negotiation. But I'm just curious, what informs the 20-25k window you chose? Was it based on previous experience or experience of others etc?

Any feedback would be appreciated. I have received some advice from good gentlemen here before, so thanks again. Attached is quote for Roofing gutter system. The building is 58 feet by 40 feet, is quote reasonable or over price for a job in Imo state.

Its quite much for your building footprint. Your house is just 17m x 14m approx. I just finished installing (some days ago) for a house of about 24m x 16m and total cost was about 300,000 although we used a cost saving method.

But if you're using PVC for the gutter and downpipes, you will spend 350k or thereabouts.

If you need more details, contact me on +2347038935532.

Seen it on YouTube, very efficient generator, all my checks in Lagos could not get the generator even from accredited dealer , I believe this model is not really for this our part of the divide, you see other sizes of the Honda generator that are more noisy than other brands in Stores

This gen is super quiet. It is sold less than three miles from my house. I would have bought it if this generator is powered by diesel. I don't want petrol wahala when it comes to fire. I'm staying away from petrol powered generator.

Congratulations on an astute decision.

Frankly, German floor should be standard requirement.

The only decision should be use plastics and/or wire mesh or not.

Good luck.

Thanks for your advise.

@Everyone, please I really do need someone who does german flooking to take on this project. My bricklayer says he can't handle it and has to bring someone from Agege. Can anyone assist me with this on Nairaland?

The day you do an Inverter System and probably spice it up with Solar Panels, you will come to hate anything called Generator, quiet or not.

And the price difference is not really much (I did not realise too, until l actually ventured into it).

If noise is what really bothers you, then you should be aiming for an Inverter System based on Elelctricity or Solar charging.
You can start with a small capacity but ensure it is expandable such that you increase its capacity bit by bit.

It is easier than we think.

Try @GabbyTabby for a recommendation that she shared on here before.

She recommended one artisan that only does poured concrete.

By the way, she’s a no hostage taking straight shooter, any recommendations from her is as good as gold.

This amount will build an Inverter System, with Solar Panels with enough capacity to power a Duplex with at least three AC's running continously, with other household appliances.

Why spend such money on a dangerous, noisy and unreliable alternative like Generator?,

ABB doesn't do any Low Voltage product manufacturing in Britain. It is also not a British brand. ABB is Swedish.

Original ABB boards have enclosures predominantly made in Egypt and India. While most of the MCBs are made in Germany.

Unfortunately you have the exact same inscriptions as seen on the authentic product replicated on the counterfeits ( made in germany , made i Egypt etc).
Don't buy an ABB board here that is described as "Made in England" its a ruse.

Thank you very much for this information,

please where can I buy the genuine ABB board in Lagos?

There are "specialist" Contractors who do Concrete Decking/German floor only.
All you do is provide all the materials for them. (Cement, Granite, Stone dust/Sand, Water).

They will bring their Machine and all Labourers required.
Saves you a lot of headache and from my experience, they are cost effective.

I luckily got his number from one of my old phones.
I used the man a few years back, in Lagos, very efficient (not sure if he travels outside lagos) - Kehinde 08103136914.
They are based in Mushin area of Lagos.
You can have a chat with him and see if he fits your needs.

Veey correct, but this generator can also serve as alternate power aource from solar in period of downtime that is if person get plenty money to spend
However solar power generation is a cleaner and safer alternative but my fear is that most of the so called expert/installer will just package substandard panels, batteries and inverter accessories for you and 3~6 months down the line you will be full of regrets
If me I need to upgrade to solar I wouls source from US/UK and do the installation
If you are not resolute tge installer will come up with stories of what you bought not being compliant with our weather and bla bla bla.
But if you research on solar energy you will learn a lot,do you know arrangemment of panels and batteries(series/parallel) determines the output capacity of your solar system
