Sanchez01:He is the first o. Not just in Nigeria but in Africa! He's a very humble man. I've had the chance of meeting him as well. He speaks Urhobo fluently due to mother factor. His scholarship also centers on Urhobo Culture. He was the first to write on Urhobo Udje. He has also written plays on Urhobo people such as The Wives' Revolt. |

Deo1986:It's instructive to note that shortly before independence, the British skewed the political arrangement in the favour of the North to allay their fears. Aside, coup and counter coup which the north largely benefited from due to its military configuration, the Yorubas has had a fair share of her bite at the cherry in the democratic dispensations. Maybe you should be the one smoking away your brain. |

MasViews:I still don't get the drift your argument is going... but if it's what I think it is, then I'm not afraid to tell you that before 1960, it's more likely to discover oil in Kaduna than finding 10 graduates in northern Nigeria. |

GoldNiagara:Selling falsehood won't help the yorubas get ahead of others, it will only give them false unexisting glory which will keep them falling further. Since waec started posting waec stats in nigeria in 2002, SE leads in highest number of higher institution graduates n Secondary school leavers as well, SS comes in second while SW comes in @ a distant third. The Nigerian state with highest number of professors in nigeria is not a yoruba state as u guys have been selling, it's imo state. Better wake up on time... |

theguvnor:Northerners had another form of education for centuries judged by different criteria but the books written by equivalents of professors are still available. Because of their attachment to Islamic education northerners were ( and many still are ) suspicious of western Christian oriented education. The other Nigerians had nothing to lose so they embraced both the education and the new religion- Christianity. |
