Kolkata class destroyers

some unknown facts

1.MFSTAR radar range is officially quoted at around 250km but as far as i know it is around 500km

2.the destroyer has enough space provision left to install another 64 cell VLS in various combinations like 8x8 cell VLS or 2X32 cell VLS, in short the ship is under-armed, it is fitted for additional weapons in the future .

mostly likely they r waiting for

1.ER-LRSAM range 150+ km
2.Nirbhay LRCM range 1200 km
3.2XAK-630 CIWS will be replaced in future by naval version of in development SR-SAM for PDWS 2X16 cell VLS (presently 4XAK-630 CIWS installed )

fully armed a single ship of this class has the power and the technological capability to defeat a entire naval surface assets of a small sized country ie around 10 frigate sized ships or lesser atleast on paper/theory.

in real life things r much more complex, full of uncertainty and therefor it is evident that it is stupid and foolish to make such claims in practice/real life scenario.

it is interesting to note the operational doctrine of IN calls for crippling of hostile targets and not complete destruction , as this will lead to logistic burden on the enemy and draw out additional assets for assistance hence more targets for engagement. much like the argument for 5.56 NATO rounds which is more likely to cause wounds than outright kills hence increase the logistic burden on the enemy.

Terrorist love foods. Chapatti wasted. Why is PK not giving up on India?

I wish I had some Indians in my class and see reactions because have got over 10 PK guys.

Maybe it's going to be a fighting issue.
