this will allow an aircraft to to change shape of the fuselage/parts of the fuselage mid flight at the press of a button

infact LCA uses shape memory alloys in a big way , not to alter its shape

but to defeat metal fatigue ie expansion and shrinkage of hot and moving parts , this leads to high performance , low maintenance and better safety
