The bolded cannot be true, no way. No sane lecturer, that knows anything about chemistry at all, let alone one in UI will do this. It's true that lecturers might wanna test how smart a student is using tricky and technical questions, but it will ALWAYS be within the scope of the correct concept.
I repeat, the trick like you said, may be used in stoichiometry or other calculating parts of chemistry but not in this particular case of diffusion of gases.

am afraid its too late for you to change to UI, buh if you dont mind FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION OYO in Affliation with University of Ibadan (degree programme) is still selling their form you can even register without choosing the school on Jamb the reg will close by 20th of this month their website is fcesuidegree.com note: they offer only education course on (Degree not NCE).

available undergraduate courses are: *Education/Christian Religious Studies; Education/Islamic Studies; Educational Management; Guidance and Counselling; Human Kinetics; Primary Education Studies; Education/Mathematics; *Education/French; *Education/English and Special Education.

You can also reg for Adeyemi College of Education in affliation with OAU (Degree programme) you can do the reg without choosing the school on jamb as well

Convection occurs in fluids not in solids, this is an example of a solid hanging in free air, it's loss of heat is simply by radiation. If you put your palm close to a red hot metal you'll feel the heat as a result of radiation which is the same in this case....take land and sea breeze, the land looses heat by radiation, it's after this loss of heat by radiation that a convectional current is now set up
