The streets of Addis Abeba, Ethiopia bustle with activity during the day. Shoppers crowd markets, taxi cabs dash across busy streets and music booms from office towers. For the most part, Addis Abeba seems to be an ordinary city. But as the sun sets, remaining illusions of normalcy disappear. Young girls, some between the ages of 8 and 15, line city streets in hopes of finding customers for sometimes $1 and $2 per trick.

Due to unemployment (over 50%) and other economic hardships, there are between 130,000-150,000 prostitutions in Addis Ababa. This is means that 1 in 12 women in Addis Ababa have turned to this business.

The capital is now the home to the largest Brothels in Africa.

Most of them are local inhabitants of Addis Abeba. Some are migrant from every parts of Ethiopia.

Mekele city, Tigray region is also home to many prostitutions like Addis Abeba.

There are endless prostitutes in where I live in (Bole town, Addis Ababa).
