Is it not the same allocation they get that other regions get?

No it's not the same, and it's lower in most vases and keep in mind it caters for a much larger population. Why then are you surprised and complain about the higher rate of poverty in the region?

Be objective for once.

All those artisans you mentioned above are a million times better than the ritualists, armed robbers, drug traffickers, baby factory merchants and other criminals churned out daily from your region. Hard honest work is more honorable than criminality anywhere, anyday.

Fault the OP logic if you can and stop spewing smelly spit everywhere.

This thread is nonsense and i'm not interested in it. the only thing that caught my attention is this your stupid post.
Northerners are stupid and idiots and they should hold their leaders for their backward lifestyles and stop distracting world bank from attending to the region (southern Nigeria) that will yield quick result.

Pigs and idiots that are crying daily about marginalization of their potor region, severe underdevelopment and python dance are the ones asking northerners with the best infrastructure to hold their leaders accountable cheesy grin

If your region yields quick results then why do you need world bank intervention after so many years of holding your golden leaders accountable? Potor logic grin

Nairaland is truly a land of signs and wonders.

Southern Nigerians are always quick to mention that the Northern region is the worst in all human development indices, the highest level of poverty, and always claim it is the region that is dragging the rest of the country backward.

What then is wrong if the President responsible for the progress of the whole country asks the World Bank to focus on the North? The region that is claimed to be impeding the country's collective progress?

Is this plain hypocrisy, wickedness or collective bipolarity of southerners?

World Bank, please continue your focus on the "backward" North.

The headline of the Punch story was made to generate negative buzz.

OP, you are right.

Is the World Bank a charity organization? If yes, then no problem. If no, then pray tell, what does the World Bank expect for this service? And how are they to be repaid?

I believe it's naive to think that the World Bank expects nothing in return. If they're to carry out this development using loans, then it will have to be repaid with interest. So, at whose expense will these loans be repaid? If you feel Buhari's actions are morally justified, you might as well prevail on Buhari to impose a heavy tax (like upwards of 50% of personal income) on us all so that sufficient funds can be made available to develop the north.

After successfully instituting this heavy tax scheme, you can at least live with the assurance that when another one of your violent islamist groups arises to cause devastation in future, there will always be funds to provide the needed development. There is sound moral basis for this, don't you think so? Those conquered hypocritical southern scum have to be punished for the failures of the North.

I must confess this post is the most arrogant northern statement I've seen in my life time. A well deserved arrogance I must admit. After all, the id1ot southerners fool1shly believe they can negotitate advantages from a position of weakness. Seize advantage of your strength while you have it. It's the practical thing to do. Well done!

You need to read your history books, focus on northern commerce and agriculture before the discovery of oil and then come back to repeat your statement.

Unfortunately the point that bad leadership nationwide is the reason for nationwide underdevelopment flew over your head.

I doubt your capacity for this discourse, no offense.

I don't know, but were they expecting the world Bank to focus on their "Eldorado south which is clearly the most developed place" on the surface of the earth? That's according to them. Lol

The South doesn't need any development programs from world Bank because it has already developed, rather the north needs it!!! Anybody who isn't happy with this should jump into the nearest pit toilet. Lol

So don't you think the higher the cost, regardless of who bears it, the better the chances of northern development? I think you should pursue your moral convictions to the fullest. The more moral you are, the less hypocritical you can be. Propose the idea swift northern development through heavy taxes on the South to Buhari. it's simple logic. More funds available to defray the higher costs required for better development.

The greatest irony is when the SE screams marginalization in one breath, and in the same breath claim the North is the most backward and undeveloped region in the entire country. How does that even make sense?

Watch how they will avoid this thread like a plague.

I couldn't agree more with your submission, southern hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens!

What the SE is saying is that all regions should be equally treated. Have you ever had of equity, justice an fairness? Even the US, Britain and EU stated the need for that for pece to reign. So what are you ranting about? Almost all the states in the north receive more than states in the SE, so what are you pouring saliva everywhere?

And in your one track mind, you think ONLY the South will bear the cost of repayment?

Do you realize if every region is contributing to repay, the North will contribute more than the South East that seems to be complaining the most? What is your entire IGR as a region? Are Kano and Kaduna alone not more productive than the entire South East? Look at the table below.

If anyone should complain about repayment it should be the oil rich SS and industrious SW, not the unproductive SE.

You deceive nobody by hiding under the label of "South".

Equity demands that the North should be focused upon for development, since the rest of the country claims its the most undeveloped and responsible for the country's lack of progress. That is equity.

Nigerian president is a "servant" to all the citizens of all the regions of the country. He cannot be bias so as to make a move in favour of a part of the country, let alone lobby international financial institution like the world bank to favour his kinsmen and disregard the other zones.

That south is more developed than the north is still just a claim, but even if its true, it didn't come to be so because special programs of national or international kind was carried out in the south.
