which kind of rough play is this grin grin grin someone isn't concerned of engine blowout from all that dust
Check out this French A400M on its first ops deployment to Niger on 01 Sept.
It's one of the reasons I prefer A400M and AN-70 for strategic lift to the Il-76. Imagine subjecting that turbofan to this! shocked shocked shocked

Also, in the medium tactical lift category, one of the reasons I suspect the Brazilian Embraer KC-390 will struggle against the C-130.

It's pity the "westernised" AN-70, the AN-7X will never be built: Ukraine doesn't have the funds; Russia will not collaborate and the EU ship has sailed. Ironic since the Germans favoured it to the A400M as it was 30% cheaper and evaluated to be technically superior. Oh well, what Airbus wants, Airbus gets.

U people are childish, U wouldn't be making such comment about a foreign MRAP. U will not compare ur balls to foreign MRAPS but when another African country makes theirs then U say UR balls are nicer and stronger than theirs. Try to beat the rest of the world not each other and by the way equipment produced by African nations can meet all the requirement of all the armies on the continent. Stop financing UR enemies.

Blah blah blah...

Who came here claiming they have made the best APC in the world but failed to prove it? If you think your balls are nicer then place them on the table and let us get h#es to be the judges otherwise go get some balls enlargement.

As for competing against the world, yes South Africa makes some of the finest tech in the respective fields. We don't make everything but what we make is amongst the best in those particular fields..... However, we don't come to this thread to go on and on about it like some dude who has been going for months over 1 vehicle.

Un-armoured vehicles caught in ambush;
Outdated intelligence and inadequate co-ordination with the resident French;
Duplicitous locals;
No air cover;
No ready access to medical support;
Outnumbered and outgunned;
A heroic accounting during firefight;

The similarities between Bangui and what befell the Yanks in Niger are uncanny.

Some differences:
The Nigeriens on the joint patrol actually fought, unlike FACA in Bangui;
The French mobilised air assets as a QRF, though "Danger Close" meant no ordnance could be dropped;
No ceasefire offered by the belligerents but the arrival of French QRF forced them to break contact;
The Yanks had drones in-country.

RIP to all the fallen.

Somalia bombs: 276 people killed in twin blasts in Mogadishu, more than 300 injured

The death toll from a powerful twin blast in Somalia's capital has risen to 276 with about 300 others injured, making it the deadliest attack ever in the Horn of Africa nation, officials said.Information Minister Abdirahman Osman, who revealed the updated death toll, described the attack as "barbaric".

Mogadishu, a city long accustomed to deadly bombings by al-Shabab, was stunned by the force of Saturday's blast.

The attacks shattered hopes of recovery in an impoverished country left fragile by decades of conflict, and it again raised doubts over the government's ability to secure the seaside city of more than 2 million people.As angry protesters gathered near the scene of the attack, Somalia's government blamed the Al Qaida-linked Al Shabaab extremist group for what it called a "national disaster".

However, Africa's deadliest Islamic extremist group, which often targets high-profile areas of the capital, had yet to comment.They don't care about the lives of Somali people, mothers, fathers and children," Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire said. link http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-15/somalia-bomb-blast-in-capital-mogadishu-death-toll-rises/9052054

Just simply look at pictures of ARA's side and rear doors when they are open. If anyone thinks 23 mm will struggle to pass through that, they are simply delusional. And then Henry talks about Dynemma as if its a magical material, when in fact its in the league of body armour/Kevlar...meant to stop 44 Magnum rounds. But anyways
its a .44 magnum not 44 magnum.

now you are making ludicrous claims too.

Deaths since gone up - over 300, the Radio announced- imagine! Is the intent of Shebab now merely to exterminate all in Somalia or did they, in this instance, miscalculate potential casualty during preparation of explosives ?

Once in a while I'm of the irrational fear that the African mind/character is of type prone to repetition and conditioning, something clock-work-like, mindless. Feed the word Corruption to him and he eventually and forever mouths off on corruption until the word itself becomes more significant than meaning and what should be done about it. Feed him the plough, seed and beating and he bends his back to the farrowing, toils and toils until the glistening along his flanks and the songs become backdrop to a never ending tale of his servitude. The Arab philosophy fed him, he blows up things, shrills in the glory of deaths, until the blowing up and deaths become motivation, context forgotten.

there are reports the truck SVBIED was being chased after raising suspicion,when it detonated,this attack may take a turn for the worse as alshabaab may be more willing to carry similiar attacks against civilians

Most people drop the point in front of the caliber size when casually talking about it, and you know this.
You just wanted something to say.

.22 - most people just say 22

.44 - 44 Magnum

.5 - 50 Cal
