Happy Sunday to you my Admin & fellow agric enthusiasts!
I am planning on erecting an extensive poultry farm meant specifically for meat production. As such, I'll need to create my own carton brand and also acquire some specialize processing machines.
Now, I need advice on:
1. What processing machines are we really talking about here to start off a semi large poultry meat processing farm?
2. I want to know the exact parts of a chicken to be packaged separately, and their corresponding numbers in a carton.
Thank you in anticipation... You're blessed!

Kudos on your business plan.you will be in competition with zartech, chi and natundo. But fear not,the market is large enough

Wings ,thighs and laps packaged in 10kg cartons for wholesalers and party caterers.
1.5kg to 2kg whole birds,in food grade BPA bags for consumers.

08185611322 is my watsapp.i can send u machines you need for processing with prices.
You get them 7weeks after, from china.i charge you exactly the cost price ,plus my own 10% service charge.

I run a frozen food store, package them in 10kg breast, 10kg laps and whole chicken between 1.2- 1.7 kg because that range is more profitable. The actual issue is with the processing and storage and logistics..you will need at least a 1 ton cold room and generator, and structure the business such that you keep cost and production well monitored. For now I think you should employ manual laborers for the processing, just the cold storage and electricity are most important if you have mastered the production well

Retail price is 1200/kg ... wholesale price is 1000-950 per kg ... so just multiply it by this factor and you will have the specific price

But sir does one really make profit if the chicken are raised by oneself rather than buying dressed chicken from the farm for stock
Re: Made In Nigeria Frozen Chicken by KingShayDee(m): 6:38pm On Oct 17, 2017
i think for a start you should buy from the poultry then process after you can start your own poultry, but nevertheless start small then build from there.

What are d requirements for d 1ton cold room...Standard Cold rooms comes in 5 ton and 10 ton, 5 ton is the size of a 20ft container, 10 ton is the size of a 40 ft container.

d cost of feeding and vaccination to raise 100 doc broilers to 2kg N1000/chicken, at he conditions that farm facility, drinkers, feeders and labor are available. Now the secret is that you start slaughtering and freezing once its about 6 weeks, so you cut down on resources being spent

I love this thread. On the long run, I will consider using solar to power the cold room, biogas to power gen. Thanks evryone.

But then for the benefits of freshmen in this sector, how much minimum capital do you think <to the already established folks in this line (our mentors)> should be enough to begin this business? since the person is just starting up, slaughtering 200 -250 birds per day is not bad at all. Please help us to learn your wisdom. God bless you
Re: Made In Nigeria Frozen Chicken by karlboss: 5:42pm On Oct 23, 2017
A beautiful idea because most of the imported frozen foods we eat are poisonous to our health. If you can produce at competitive prices the sky is your starting point

if you slaughter 200-250 birds a day, i wont even dare to see you as a fresher in this sector... that is quit big on Nigerian levels sha. you would need a large cold room, about 30 kva generator and be ready to run the gen, don't count on PHCN. Its not just for one to choose a figure because there are different approaches to this endeavor. If you are really interested in this you need to put together a business plan. Start with a scale of slaughtering about 50 a day scale.
