Yep!

His name is Jackson, he lives in Jamaica
Every morning he comes down to the docks
To watch the ships come and go
He's been here too long....
Hmmmmn, nice! grin
That song gives me goose bumps
Re: Remembering Lucky Dube 10 Years After Death by kadree(m): 4:45pm On Oct 18, 2017
Ever since they were born
She was worried about their friends
Even when they turned twenty five
She was worried about the company they'd keep
One day it was three in the morning
The door bell rang
She got up in a sweat
Blue lights flashing everywhere
The boys in blue standing at the door
The look on their faces scared her enough
Before they told her what she was always afraid of
[Chorus:]
Do you know where your son/daughter is tonight
I'm afraid they won't be coming home tonight
Ever since she was brought to this home
She's been cursing every woman with a child
She says they brought to this world the curse
That have stained the good name of mankind
One day it was three in the morning
The guard came running to tell us she's gone
Blue lights flashing everywhere
All over again
The boys in blue, looking for her
The look on their faces
Scared us enough when they told us to strengthen our family ties
[Chorus:]

KEEP RESTING IN PEACE LUCKY.

I kept playing this tract in the office today.

Mum made me love Lucky Dube's song. Bring on any track, she will down it real. A woman hitting 50 soon.

LUCKY WAS THE TRUTH SPEAKER!

He said " Da Holy books tell us the truth will set you free... If u stand for the truth, you will stand alone"

LUCKY Dube! respeck lion. jah guide itinually Inna Zion land where Yuh dey pon.
Many a times iman a shed tears when mi listen to your songs cos you died fi d things you preached about.

over the years I've observed that he is not being given his rightful place in the reggae world.. probably because he's not Jamaican! but it doesn't take away the quality of his works as he is known to have the best stage performance among all a Dem.
keep on resting in powet rasta. jahguide
Jah bless yah Bro! You spoke my mind 100%
It is sooooo painful that he died of one of the menaces he preached against. He was a tireless social crusader. Always singing about societal vices and Yes! He was not duly acknowledged as laudable as his artistry was maybe because he's African and black. I thought he should have featured in the tribute to Bob Marley event. All of these didn't take anything away from the fact that he is our legend.

Today we mourn you Lucky, we remember and appreciate your efforts at making the world the Utopia of your dreams. You left abruptly when the battle is not nearly won. But, the foot soldiers which we all are still abound and so the dreams are not for dying. There is hope for humanity and we will berth at Utopia one day.

Rest on beloved!

I still prefer MAJEK to this guy anytime any day, perhaps we will get to appreciate MAJEK when he is no more,MAJEK was about taking control of the world of reggae, before misfortune struck MAJEK had already signed a deal worth 20 million dollars with INTERSCOPE RECORDS circa 1991/92 which was and is still a record fee for an African and he also still remains one of those very very few African artistes if not the only African artiste to ve been featured on David Letterman's show in the US.

When i was younger, i never liked Dube's (raggae) songs, but as i was growing up, i started listening to his songs with my whole mind n then i got to understand what he was saying.. Sometimes, i calm my nerves by listening to his songs. Anytime m playing his songs with my earpiece, i feel like he is talking to me, i always learn something from each track.. Prisoner, Crazy word, take me as i am, women of the world, my brother, my enemy.. Rip! Lucky Dube, though you're gone, your songs keeps me going.

Reggae music is very spiritual indeed. I woke up this morning blazing to his mixtapes on my system. Until I came here and realize it's the legends 10th anniversary. Lucky dube you forever live on, your music and legacy forever will remain on this earth. You really made an impact on every reggae music lover.

Today makes it 10 years since we lost a great South African reggae music legend Lucky Dube who was killed in an attempted hijacking in Rosettenville, Johannesburg on the 18 October 2007.

Lucky was dropping off his son at a family member’s house when the incident occurred.

Drop your favourite hit song, quote or lyrics in remembrance
I have more than 95 of his songs on my phone. My favourite song of his is "Group Areas Act". This song is my ringtone.

My favourite quote from one of his songs is "Be good to the people on your way up the ladder cause you'll meet them on your way down".

R.I.P Lucky Dube.
