Sholakanye:
My favourite is Back to my roots... The bass line of this track is the best reggae bass line I've ever heard. Only the bass line of Holy Spirit by Majek Fashek comes close in my book.

Great reggae artist with loads of great tracks.
Slave.
Born to Suffer.
That's the Way it is.
House of Exile.
Together as One.
Different Colours.
It's not easy.
Romeo.
etc.
That baseline is something else, only God knows how it was discovered, every keyboardist/base guitarist plays it like tomorrow no dey, Majek fasek's "Man of sorrow" base line is great too.

PRISONER

Somebody told me about it

When I was still a little boy

He said to me, crime does not pay

He said to me, education is the key, yeah

As a little boy I thought I knew

What I was doing, yeah man

But today here I am in jail

Chorus:

I' m a prisoner (x3)

I looked all around me

But to see nothing

But four grey walls staring at me

The policeman said to me, son

They won' t build no schools anymore

All they' ll build will be prison, prison (x3)

'cos today, yeah

Chorus:

I am a prisoner (x2) I' m a prisoner

Dear lord

I asked the policeman and said

How much must I pay for my freedom?

He said to me, son

They won' t build no schools anymore

They won' t build no hospitals (x2)

All they' ll build will be prison, prison (x4)

Lucky is my best reggae musician ever. I love him even more than Marley.
Why is nobody talking about Mickey Mouse Freedom?

Put his coat on his shoulders and slowly he walked away
Behind him he could hear
Those innocent voices
Crying out so bitterly saying
We did not start the war But we fighting now
We did not start the fire
But we burning now
They were told many years ago that their country is free
But they didn't understand
That it's not real
They never knew it was a

[Chorus:]
Mickey Mouse freedom
Independence

Me come ina you country
That is said to be free [x2]
Me sight corruption.
Me sight starvation
Walking like a millionaire 'cause you think you country is free
One thing you don't know is that your country is being remote controlled

[Chorus:]
Mickey Mouse freedom
Independence

So far so good we still living today
But we don't know what tomorrow brings
In this crazy world people dying like flies every day
You read about it in the news but you don't believe it

You'll only know about it
When the man in the long black coat
Knocks on your door
'Cause you're his next victim
As you are living in this

Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Leaders starting wars every time
They want some for their rights
Some for fun and their own glory
Letting people die for the wrong that they do

Oh it's painful come on now little boy
Say your prayers before you sleep
Little boy went down on his knees
And he said

"Oh Lord, now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
And if I die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take"

'Cause he's living in this crazy world
Oh Lord

Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world
Living in, living in this crazy world

I have more than 95 of his songs on my phone. My favourite song of his is "Group Areas Act". This song is my ringtone.

My favourite quote from one of his songs is "Be good to the people on your way up the ladder cause you'll meet them on your way down".

R.I.P Lucky Dube.
That the way it is!

When he died, I was inconsolable. I cried. I got many phone calls from my friends cos they knew how l feel about him. I can sing by heart all his tracks. My colleagues wondered how a girl will go with the reggae beat but who cares!

Feel Irie
Remember me
Steel bars
Peanut butter
Different colors
Romeo
Prisoner
Slave
Soul taker
Ding Ding
Johnny
Crazy world
Rasta man
Reggae strong
I've got you babe
Back to my roots
Fugitive
Love me the way I am
Up with hope
Born to suffer
Victims
I've got Jah
Blessed is the hand
On my own
Hold on
That's the way it is
No truth in this world
Then My favourite, House of exile

Rest in peace my hero!
Feel Irie is actually my favorite of his songs..the lyrics and most especially the beats and acoustic in that song eh..chaii..a good song is everlasting.

Yeah.
Man of Sorrow very lovely bass line too.
I think the bass line is something like
MI SO LA
LA DO LA SO LA
MI LA LA LA FA
LA DO DO FA
MI MI TI MI .

I hope I'm correct.

BIG BOYS DONT CRY
JULIET AND ROMEO
RASTAMAN'S PRAYER
HOUSE OF EXILE

If we both believe in Reincarnation,
Maybe we will have a
Chance in the next life.

And I remember the days
When love was so far away from me,
The only time I knew about love was
When mommy and daddy told me they loved me.
