Have you ever wondered when the exact moment was that a believer changed from being a believer to an unbeliever? Have you ever wondered what made Fela Kuti stand up to the Nigerian government? Have you ever wondered what made Seun build Nairaland?

IT WAS AN IDEA THAT STARTED ALL THIS. A VERY SIMPLE IDEA!

I was a christian and it was a simple idea that began my journey into atheism- "what if this religion is slave religion?". The question entered my head the day a white man in london told me that I'm a still a slave following the religion of the slave masters of my ancestors. That question kept repeating itself in my head. Little did I know that the question will build up slowly to me losing my religion.

The question lead me to google "christianity and slavery". I started reading about the racism and religion involved in the transatlantic slavery. I kept on reading and reading about slavery and religion until I could take no more. Within the next 2 months, I had already decided that Yahweh was a racist and christianity is a slave religion. Few weeks later, I was a full blown atheist.

A simple idea is powerful, especially if it is the truth. It stays in your mind pushing and forcing you not to ignore it.

This is why atheism has spread like wildfire due to the internet. Once an open and educated mind is hit with the truth that God and religion are both a bunch of lies, the mind has no choice but to build on that idea and research on it. The internet has helped to spread such a simple idea worldwide. This is why numerous studies show that atheism is growing.

This is why I say that atheists should never stop arguing for the truth. A simple idea can build a nation.

The internet creates far more atheists than religious people. Very few people actually become christians/muslim from online preaching.

What I do know is that most people who listen to online christian broadcasts are already christians.

How does that relate to anything I said? What do nairaland christian threads have to do with atheism growing. We are straying away from the op.

The op applies to christianity as well. Afterall, christianity spread throughout the world once. You just see anything that an atheist posts as an attack on christianity

So can you tell me who and who are those who made it 53 views, their religious or non religious status and how many times they individually viewed this same thread to make it 53 views because views are not individualised but simply show how many times a thread is seen even if it means it's 1000 people viewing and re-viewing it 10 times each.
