Don't mind those busybody complainants . There is always something to complain about. To me Range Rover service center have been wonderful to me.I cnt fault them. They even write to you for software update .
I guess you own a Range Rover too.

Does it mean one can't use this product without visiting a repair shop in a year? And how long does this balloon compressor last after fixing? Since it's one of the core issues of a Range Rovers.

Bad rds plus inferior products will cause problems to the balloons . Mine is2012 no balloon problem . You dont have to visit the repair shops . Follow the strict maintenance schedule and use right oils and parts for services you good to go.

Go ahead and bid for it. Your guess is that it is a rear absorber or s it listed as bad? Most times it is the corner valve or hoses that are the problem. Except for rust, I have never changed the rear suspension on any range rover

The Auctioneer would have listed it as having a bad rear suspension hence the info he seeked, unless he is bidding in Nigeria

Hello, sooperrescue, my bro called me and told me about having an upgrade on his 2008 Range Rover sport hse. I told him about you since you have a branch here in portharcourt.

What could be the cost of carrying out such upgrade from your shop? And I need your contact.

Let me check from the market. It looks like the 2010 bumper. I used to have one in the shop, just like yours. Problematic. Bought the injectors from Lituania. The Sport share the same injectors with Citroen which I later found out. At the moment, that Sport is the only one in the country with the knob gear and 3.0 diesel engine until yours arrive. Then my bank account will be rising and I will start smiling to the bank.

Range Rovers are fast depleting on our roads aligning with other half hearted vehicles like Benz, Bmw, Vw, Audi and Porsche to mention a few.It is sad and annoying but the owners are to be blamed. I know a lot of the owners who are not willing to hear the word range in any form because of what they go through. It is even the same complaint abroad even with the good fuel and good oils. But the good thing about them is that they don't go through engine or transmission faults. Just electricals while here, we suffer from all the faults. A range Rover is a prestigious brand in the same class with the Rolls royce because the technology is over advanced. In a situation where a cheap brake switch will cause gear errors and suspension faults, shows that it requires detailed maintenance. I remember that I was once commissioned to tow a Rolls Royce from Ife to Lagos for servicing. Imagine the amount to tow it just for routine checks. But we don't need to tow a go anywhere car but we need to be conscious of the details whenever we go for routine maintenance. The Range Rover recommends Castrol and from Castrol's website, it is not every castrol that works for the brand. It is the highest of the brand. Even Vw requires the oil, ditto BMW and other big brands but we allow lower performance oil to be used and be happy about it. As common as Peugeot cars looks, there is only one oil brand that can work well with the new generation of the brand, that is the local Mobil 1 esp 5w30. Even the famed Total oil will never work though Peugeot still recommends Total but they will tell you to use Mobil ESP. Imagine a brand that lies about the oil to use and the oil is not available anywhere. The Total Q9000 is outdated for Peugeot cars from 2011 above. The oil does not meet the requirements of the engine. In a nutshell, no locally produced engine oil is suitable for the Range Rover ditto with other big brands. There are different types of Castrol being sold in the country but the number choice should be the extended performance 5w30 and 5w20. Even the current Range Rovers legacy from 2013 requires 0w20, the same oil specification Honda and Toyotas uses in their 2008 cars. In Nigeria, the fuel is an issue but with the right oil, it will minimize the damage. Go for the best oils and enjoy your rides and make my job easier. Imagine I am still working at this hour trying to remedy damages that are avoidable. Get good oil and Octane boosters for your Range Rovers and let us go together for our next off road competition in December this year. Thinking of Lagos to Calabar to participate in the Carnival. All expenses paid. Castrol Edge extended performance oils are now available especially the 5w30. Call the importer directly. 07064090107 and get yours today and put that car back on the road.

ok cool, but if its use for long Journeys above 100km/hr thats meant to keep the DPF happy right?
Thid Diesel mater nah to change fuel filter every 6 months sure pass.
How do you guys cope with transmission fluid/filter change on the RRS
Re: Range Rover Sports Club by sooperrescue(m): 3:07pm On Oct 01, 2017
We have not even thought of it for the RRS SDv6. It is an 8 speed and the oil is not common here. But all 6 Speed are available from ravenol to Lifeguard 6 and Pureguard and Syngard. I remember a client imported a gearbox for the 2014 Evoque with the 8 Speed fluid. Right now the rate of failed Evoque engines is now a cause for concern. But we shall overcome. Na our work to overcome these challenges.

The price is not that much. 10k a liter x 8 litres for a Range Rover is not a big deal. Nigerians nor send as far it takes care of their cars. No issue. Even the Castrol is 35k a gallon and it is cool.

Hi sooperrescue, a quick question pls,2012 range rover sport, has a bad engine due to poor oil and i think fuel, engine starts but does not move, every other thing seems okay, so my question is, if the oil is drained, and normal oil type is been used (Castrol Edge extended performance oils 5w30), and fuel booaster been used accordingly, do you think there could be any chance the range would drive,by doing this, instead of changing the engine, as an engine change as been advised...

The 2012 Range uses 5w20 and like erico2k2 said, it might not be the Engine even though it was poorly maintained. I can send down a recovery truck to pick it up if you are in Lagos.

The truth is that some owners feel that oil is oil and so there is no difference but we know the end result. The truth is that no locally produced or packaged engine will work well coupled with the fuel will augur well for the Range Rover brand.

One of the greatest problems in this country is that even big men( rich men) like to cut corners on very serious issues. There are still some Range Rover Brand owners that will always buy low quality fuel for their car instead of the recommended fuel. When you try to warn them of an impending damage to their vehicles, they claim to know better than the specialist in this case. I remember when I used a MB C220 for three years and never missed the 3000 miles standard for service of the machine at Mobil filling station, someone using a Range Rover Sport asked why I was wasting money coming to Mobil service station for service every two months. I politely told him that I was saving two things: my engine life and my personal life in the long term. The guy was shocked and thought I was making fun of him and even got angry. I beckoned on him to follow me to my car where I showed him a bold sign close to the radiator where the recommended oil was boldly written: Mobil 1. Fast forward he has parked that Range Rover and I have moved on to buy another C230. This is to give credence to your statement that the main cause of the dearth of Range Rover on Nigerian roads is caused by the owners.
