1). A page in a photograph album measures 30cm by 20cm,It contains six square photos,each of the side 6cm. Calculate the area of the page which is not covered by the photos
2) A goat is tied by a rope 2½m long to a peg in some grass. The goat eat 1m² of grass in 28min. How long does it take to eat all that it can reach

1. 384cm2

2. 70min or 1hr 10min

The area of the album =30*20= 600cm square. Each Picture is a square having length 6cm. Area of a square 6*6cm = 36cm square. There 6 pictures. i.e 6*36= 216cm square. Area uncovered is 600-216= 384 cm square.

2. 70mins.

I wasnt sure of my number 2 answer that's why i didnt show working. metre square is not equivalent to m. assuming it's 1 meter and not 1 square metre, then 70mins is perfectly correct.

(2) length of rope = 2.5m
rate at which it eat = 1m2 in 28 mins
take the area the goat can reach to be area of circle with 2.5 m radius = 22/7 * 2.5 * 2.5 = 19.64 m2

if it takes d goat to 28mins to eat 1m2 area, it will take 28 * 19.64 = 549.92 mins to eat that it can reach.
