We can only win when we bring at least 50% of our products to the VFM segment. Continuing to play in the mainstream and Premium segment without consideration to the very low purchasing power of consumers will be to our disadvantages and gains of competition. I wish management will listen. |

NBplc bought IBBI which at best were grade B breweries and mixed it up with all it priced premium products and now has found itself with too much inventory because of these liabilities(2nd product). It losing its uniqueness as a customer first stop to becoming another beer company. How can you reconcile the fact that a brewery noted for Gulder ultimate search, Maltina - Family Dance,Amstel Malta Box office, Star quest no longer project it products like before because it wants to put all it original product and adopted (acquisitions) on the same platform and equal pedestal without considering customer perception history. I think, they need to start thinking of doing what the knew to do best, which is product differentiation through customer experience. NBplc was in the business of customer experience, but now it is gradually shifted to inventory(trying to sell everything). That is not a good sign of a healthy company. I think the worse is yet to come because the ember months are usually the busiest months for drinks. If recovery signs are not visible in September, then I think they have to prepare for the worse in the next quarter. |

Seems like they don't want to state the obvious fact that their sales are falling because they are facing serious competition from AB Inbev otherwise known as SABMiller in Nigeria whose Hero and Castle Light brands are really eating into NB's market share and profits. |

People are also moving from beer to spirits or wine. A group of bankers might rather share a bottle of jack daniels than do beer. |

Factfinder1:Heineken is a premium beer, made from high quality raw materials. Example is class A barley, which is used exclusively for making Heineken. Most of their profits come from the sales of Value for money brands like Life beer, 33 and the rest. |
