I'm surprised I didn't see Economics in the list when it should have been the first if a proper sample is taken from the population. Economics without doubt has the highest coefficient of failures, 2:1 to us is an index for first class.

That is the department I represent, some of the lecturers are bent to frustrate students. I remembered what Dr. Yagboyaju did to us then, average lecturer but was full of himself.

OP get your facts right. I gained admission 2006 into geology, and my friends got into chemistry same year. Yes it is very tough but 1 or 2 people do it sometimes. when we graduated 2010/2011, two people in my class has first class. verify it . fadugba Seun in geophysics and gbadamosi wale In geology. and some also came out with high 2:1s. that same set bimpe In chemistry came out with a first class and two years before that akin in chemistry came out with a first class.

They just give the whole it's impossible myth. but it happens. Check every set of Every two sets in geology and chemistry. even if it is just one person it happens.

The course too hard, the higher you go, the harder it becomes, these lecturers are not helping matters with their stingy marking scheme, I just want to jejely come out with my 2_1, I'm not asking for too much. This exam grade is then weighted using a formula to give exact grade that is your actual score.

Which means if 90% is lowest pass mark, 90% becomes 60 marks or whatever the minimum "weighted grade" the school has set.

Reason is it takes only one mistake or error to kill your patient. So only a very low level of ignorance or error can be tolerated.

Compare the percentage of first class graduates that ended up successful with that of third class.

No grade is a gateway to success but First Class opens doors for you in many areas and you stand higher chance of leading decent life.

You are right, fadugba and Gbadamosi had first classes. Fadugba first class was as a result of good start and outside courses... But come to think of it b4 both, when last did geology had 1st class abs since then they have not produced another one. You set didn't just happened to produce good results, you guys are also fortunate, large number of you guys got jobs with oil companies and services companies... Sometimes set matters. And luck too count. Remember the set after yours, John set, their structural results was graded over 100 instead of the usual over 200 since no one made it through except rhamat who made E, so they were forced to make it over 100 so they had As

Ibadan Medical School scores OSCE Exam the same way.i.e you have to score 70% in each active stations to actually pass that station.But overall including essay,MCQs,viva and picture test,you have to score 80% and above to have distinction.There are many distinctionless distinction students in Ibadan medical School.

The guy is probably lying. Blue chip companies have STRONG bias against third class. A friend of mine finished with 3rd from microbiology, went into programming, did very well for himself, scored an interview with uba.all went well, with only offer left. Then they found he had a third and that was the end of it
