When i entered uni, I used to keep my property in the hostel during holidays. Then a new rule came out banning such, and i had to keep my property off campus.

That is how it was until i started living off campus during the second half of my course.

Normally temporary accommodation is given to students for those doing IT in the farm or those doing TP as in the case of education students because it's compulsory they must do it in schl and they pay for this accommodation so the security was really wrong..the dean of students affairs has apologized and given them a new hostel to stay in

Now if you decide to ignore the school authorities then go ahead to bribe some corrupt hall officials to extend your stay, expect whatever comes your way.

but it should be done in a legal way, In civilized countries that girl with blood on her forehead can sue the school. The problem is we aren't organized in Africa.

The school does not provide accommodation for you during your IT except you are working in the school

Was she assaulted or did she fall during the forced eviction? Looks like she got the injury from a fall to me. If she had obeyed the rules of the school, she wouldn't have gotten injured like that. Someone commented earlier that the hostels have been reallocated, meaning those students must have been given several notices to vacate the premises. You get whatever comes to you if you decide to prove stubborn and go against laid down rules

Who says they must do IT from school. You can do your IT in any city. The school is not liable to leave their hostels open for IT students. Halls of residence are to serve students when school is in session. When school is off session, they find alternate accommodation.

There are agricultural students that mostly do their in the school farm same with some engineering students which I was one and I stayed in the hostel without any extra cost, even final year students stay back till they're done with their projects, there's something called temporary accommodation when school is out of session and even at that they don't deserve such assault!

The school they paid to ought to have known while planning their academic calendar that they will still be doing their I.T program. Plans should have been made to secure an extra hostel for them through this period, this can be reflected in their hostel fee for this particular session to cushion the effects on the school, I'm sure the students will willingly pay. Most of all this just boils down to proper planning, which those saddled with th responsibility need urgent re-examination. Throwing them out like this is embarrassing.

There's always an exception to every case.

400 level Agric students do their IT in school farms located within school premises and it's always been the norm to assign them to a particular hostel although this hostel they were threw out from isn't the usual hostel always assigned to them.

From what I learnt, the dean of student affairs already issued a statement and expressed concern over the actions of the hall supervisor and the security operatives.

And Yes!! They provided alternative accommodation for those students.
