Forget "never been outside the boundaries of 9ja" Let those who have lived in America for 30 yrs come and dispute or challenge me. Everything I post here is 100% accurate. But it is normal for those who can't handle the truth or tackle the topic to direct their attack on the individual.

What you don't know about our leaders children abroad is that they don't even work there. Their future is not tied to the United States. Come back 20yrs and find them as boss in all the big companies in Nigeria. You really think they will choose America over Nigeria? They are just there for the short term comfort. Even Americans who are millionaires are renouncing their citizenship and going to Europe and other places. You think America is beans?

OP, this is really funny.

well, I won't write much but I'd like to tell you something.

I'm 25 but I live so so comfortable here. Infact, before i got my GC, I was doing some menial jobs(my first 13 months here), I know how much I saved and I know how much I invested. Now, I'm looking forward to becoming a citizen in few months to come and you know what it means, more better jobs that pays so well, so get your facts right. You should be comparing lazy Nigerians here with Naija bank managers and not the hardworking ones.

Now, I can comfortably tell you that I have a solid 5 bedroom dublex in my home town. I'm not so rich and never poor but I sleep like a baby.
I enjoy steady power supply, I enjoy security, I pay for what I use, no one intimidates me, I don't get bullied.

common, Peace is so costly that you can't get it anyhow but I have PEACE of mind

Thank you for the mention bro

The Op of this thread has no idea how much you can make doing menial jobs here.
I do menial jobs currently(check my thread about adjusting status). I posted my last 2 weeks paycheck on my thread plus how much i make at my other job. In a week, i make at least 800USD. Multiply 800USD by 4, that is at least 3200USD in a month. Now convert that to Naira. grin grin grin. i don't need to lie to anyone. I work crazy Hours. Infact, i use to make more than that but since the end of the summer, things has slowed down in the restaurant where i work my main job. Thankfully, i work for a man now who pay 80$ cash per day and we work all day of the month, ALL DAY!!!...Do your calculation and see how much i make

The most shocking is seeing people especially men, leave decent jobs in Nigeria, I mean oil company employees, engineers, geologist, managers and directors of companies, doctors etc leaving their decent jobs to go abroad to do odd jobs embarassed.
i have seen cases of doctors working as nurses and carers abroad. People whose colleagues are consultants in Nigeria.
Although, this odd jobs things favor those who weren't doing so well in Nigeria.
Leaving a decent job or business in Nigeria to go for odd jobs abroad is so stupid. Many of such people were deceived Sha and a lot of them live in regrets.

Americans need and love money than Nigerians! That's why they keep putting in for the power ball lotto and dreaming of winning millions. In America money is God!
Osgilliat:

You are on point! They dont fancy the life style of having the money they don't need. It has become their culture to be satisfy with whatever they have now, they prefer to spend their five years savings on a trip to Ireland than to keep it in the bank vault.

look at this people comparing Nigeria with america instead of grading Nigeria with countries likes of Burkina Faso Madagascar Burundi ,Nigeria a country every so called billionaire made his or her money from crude oil ,now compare a nurse in America with nurse in Nigeria then balance the equation,3 American billionaire are richer than all states in Nigeria put together,Nigerian minimum wage 18k which is 50 or 60 dollars, what re u people talking ? Nigerians that never even enjoy anything life can offer re grading thier country with Almighty america, let me put it this way we re living in America cus 70 % of what ve in this world is from them, don't tell me China cus if u drink coka cola or Pepsi in China or any where in this world Americans are making money just like google think

Many ignorant people talking nonsense, they haven't even travel abroad before, life as a menial worker in the west/america is hard as hell compare to life as a menial worker in Nigeria,at least in Nigeria people have empathy to give you things if you are broke also i prefer to be a BAnk manger in naija than a menial worker in the west/america,but if i have opportunity to be a bank manger of a mid size or large bank in the west/america then i am a rare breed because,i will have access and exposure to many opportunities than the average citizen and be better off than a bank Ceo in Nigeria but to be frank this is very hard to do. Also dont get me wrong,A bank manger in nigeria has access to many opportunities in Africa especailly in the banking sector/economy.

Menial jobs in the west/europe is just pure savage, taxi drivers, waiters, dish washers, people that give advert on street, window cleaner and many others, (you know your selfsmiley) collects below minimum wage and most times depend on tips, life is hard, winter, summer, you are working, saving is hard to do because you spend as you receive, tax first, heater, gas, internet, electricity bills etc,you live life on the edge,no peace of mind, god forbid you are a illegal then that is red card.the day you lose your job is the beginning of homelessness, friends might even deny you existence when it comes to help.

let me not start with those that think they can do taxi jobs, you need a special licence, taxi jobs are competitive except you want to carry only Nigerians which is also competitive even uber in europe/america,you have to have a car that suits there requirement, life of a taxi driver in europe/america is just pure nonsense,i also prefer to be a uber driver in nigeria than in ameria/west.

for those working savage jobs ,taxi drivers and the rest converting to naija currency anytime they pay you,i guess it is inferiority complex/failure and because you have settled for less,so the best way to console your self is to convert and think you are better off than nigerians living in nigeria.

Naija can be tough,no rule of law, constant electricity or water but life in naija is easy,in europe, you might have free medical care everything free but you pay for them with your tax, once you stop paying tax,all those amenities are closed to you.in american it even worst, nothing is free in america,

And for those that think relocating or giving birth to their in america will provide your children a better life in the future, you will be disappointed to be welcome to the student loans /mortgage association after been in mortgage/studnt loan debt which you also have to be qualified to get one,you will then ask yourself in the future, does it worth it, then wake up to the reality that all your life has been in debt which will passed from generation to generation.

frankly speaking,i prefer giving birth to my children in europe,at least i will have access to free stuff like education and medical care even if poorsmiley

for quality of life which you have to pay for such as electricity, internet etc and as a professional,europe/america might be better but for real cash and future big and fat bank account without debt Nigeria is better.

I still prefer to be a menial worker,a bank manger in Nigeria than in Europe/America

I know you are trying to make some good points about living in America which I agree but calm down with the exaggeration. It is rare to find an 80k salary earner in Nigeria afford to rent a comfortable two bedroom flat. I am talking of the Nigeria where real major business and social activities take place (in the context you are giving) like Abuja, Lagos, Port-harcourt e.t.c not Osun, Yola, Maiduguri e.t.c

Is possible to earn 80k in Nigeria and rent a comfortable 2bedroom flat in Lagos.. It all depends on how you know how to manage resources

The problem with you people is that everything in life is about money, showing off and all the likes

I remember going into labour at 25weeks and the doctors said there was no hope. I watched my baby take her last breathe and because the facilities were not there to keep her going.

Then I read on @jppaige Instagramm, how her Baby Juliana was delivered at 25weeks. She is A yr old today. This cannot happen in Nigeria.

Tell me why anyone will not relocate from this country. Op is busy comparing nonsense.
Go to schools, we are still teaching 1+1 while children are learning coding and robotics in primary schools.

Someone will now wake up to compare..smh

It's not possible to rent 2 bedroom flat in most area in lagos. Except you want to live in places like ikorodu, ayobo and other far and less developed area. So, if you live in these areas make sure your place of work is closeby. If not, transport ll eat up your salary. 80k is nothing in present day nigeria....

100% of Nigerians didn't go to America for basic amenities. It was after they got there and saw the reality of things that they started consoling themselves talking about light, roads etc. Trust me brother, it is a trillion times easier to make it in Nigeria than America. It is not for you to know but those who live there knows it deep down and it hurts. They will never admit it in public though.

A trillion times easier to make it in Nigeria than America? Again really?
Very funny I used to say exactly the same thing. When all my friends were leaving I decided to stay back saying thinking "Na this country I go make am" trying to build a small business. Initially it was looking like I made the right decision but 5, 7, 10 years down the line its obvious they made a better decision. Unstable Government policy, tribalism and the rest is making Nigeria a frustrating place to be. I took a fantastic product to the Northern part of Nigeria, I've been there for the past 2months, they like the product but just because am young and not Hausa they are reluctant to sign up. One told me to my face "So you wan make I fay small fikin like you N1,000,000.00 wetin I go take am do". I feel like packing up and leaving the country. Make all of us dey talk say America no easy dey hustle am there. When my brother in law that left about 8 years ago told he will spend about N9 million to get his document I told him if na me i go gather the money come start business in Nigeria. Today nko his wife and kids have gone there to join him. When I saw the video of the free public school his kids are attending how they eat free good food in the school's restaurant, the schools transport system, how they are taught. I couldn't help but shed tears. I pray my daughter does not tell me " daddy where were you when all our aunties and uncles were taking our cousins to America?" I don do their passport for my kids and wife. Next year Gods willing they must leave this country. If na true say e no be better place make dem go find out.
I've never been there, but comparing what those I know that went had achieved and what I have achieved, America is a place to be. It takes time to make it and start leaving the American dream but its totally worth it.
