Does God answer prayers? If so, then how do we explain this disconnection between God and amputees? What should we do with the piece of empirical data that amputees represent? We need to somehow explain why God would answer millions of prayers on earth, yet completely ignore prayers for amputated limbs.

Priorities bro, it's called priorities.

God's priority is to give people job, promotion, make A's in your exam grade, etc
When he is done with all such prayer request above, maybe he will consider prayers of amputees

Very biblical my brother. For it is written that the ways of god is not the ways of man. That's why god chooses to work only in mysterious ways.
