the bible never had any, talk less of losing it... a book with errors, contradictions, pornography, and some verses removed from other versions of the bible...

woe to those that wrote the book wit their own hands and claimed it s from God, just for a little gain..

Don't mind them when they want to cast out demons it's their tablets they'll present to bind the devil..ndi uchu. Modern day Christianity is turning into a joke.
The papers has no capacity to cast demons, what matters is the word and not where it is written. The bible was not originally written on paper. It's the evolution of technology that gave birth to paper bible, the same technology has advanced. Learn to embrace change while still holding on to what can not change, the word of God

Not only the pastor but the entire congregation at times.
I am not against pastors using a tablet, rather replacing the physical bible with a tablet in the pulpit

As the pastor enters the pulpit to bring the word of God to the people of God, no hard copy of the bible is found in his hand, gracing the top of the podium visible to the entire congregation as the book at the center of attention, instead the congregation sees a tablet.

I believe there are several potential dangers this subtle shift generates.

The old testament was written on stone tablets, the books of the new testament was written in scrolls, if a book were to be added to the Bible in our day it would probably be written in soft copy pdf format.

So it doesn't matter where u read the Bible from what matters is receiving the word and allowing the Holy Spirit give them life in ur heart 2cor 3:6 or otherwise you can carry stone tablets around afterall that was where the original text was written

I've come to realize that a huge number of people who identify as Christian do not actually understand what Christianity is about.

Someone actually thinks the Bible is the paper and ink...

*sigh*

You are just delusional. Same goes to many people on this thread

If you want to prove a point at least don't make a fool out of yourself while at it.

Books are also results of science (technology). Back in those days (BC) words and memos were written on BOARDS (or books made from animal flesh)

It is not about the means of reading the word of God, it is about how you use the "Words" written in the Bible. (Study to show thyself approved)

"I shall meditate on it day and night" (Knowing the word and how to use it)

Those movies where you see pastors cast out Demons with a bible are just plain stupìd.

You don't need a bible to cast out Demons, you need to activate the word of God implanted in you (which you studied and approved).

Don't be too forward to make fun of yourself next time sir
preach to them brother.. As if the disciples used the bible to cast out demons... Most Nigerians and their demented way of reasoning.

Someone brought a book to you and tells you it is word of God. You accepted without research/questions.

In no distant time, it will lose its value. The creator can communicates at the same time.

"there is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophies. My brain and heart are my temples, my philosophy is kindness"

let's free ourselves from the shackles of organized religion.

bro that holy book called bible has undergone many packaging history... over long stretch of time... according to convenience and technique or !method of that generation!... remember moses and the stone commandment?... remember... the scroll... which is folded like a mat? some written extensively on special clothing sheets.. then come the paper... even the paper they were modifications in quality... weight and size..., now this is the new era.... the most convenient means is the electronic device.... remember the most important thing is the content....

Dont be stagnant in our progress and reasoning.... I hear a lot of people complain... I just laugh... I guess they are just reasoning and been scared of how they will flip and throw their tablet or device ... when they are casting and binding a proposed demon.... lol...

and if it is distracting you... simply set it on airplane mood!!! I have a colleague that have a device specially for the scriptures.... bible.. Islamic holly book... quality books in different format... etc... no calls jumps in... always on a flight mood!

let's grow with time... okay that's the beauty of good human thinking... progress....changes!!!

Only children of indomie generation who can't make simple research see this as a big issue. The bible was not originally on paper, so why do you think it should remain on paper forever when the world itself embrace change?

I believe we should change with the times. In the times of moses , it was written on tablets and as times progressed they started using parchments. In our times, the electronic devices are relevant and most people can't be caught without them . So y not use it to read the bible ?

Even while Jesus preached those who came to listen to him didn't carry the bible neither did he. The emphasis is not where you read it from, the emphasis is that you have the word inside of you.

Before there was paper, the Bible existed. The word of God is so Dynamic it evolves with the time it's in. There was a time only the Priest had access to the Scrolls(Old Testament) and if you wanted to hear the word of God, you had to be at the temple or be rich enough to acquire copies of those scrolls.

Paper made the word easily accessible. Electronics made it more easily accessible. Moreover in some forseable future, the use of paper might go extinct.

The Word of God is Dynamic. Don't suppress or limit it with your static mind. Thank You

I just don't subscribe to d Ipad or fone bibles esp. When there is no hard copy! That same phone harbours some Pornographic Videos. Unserious Christians will always have excuse for everything. How can u say Holding hard copy of the bible is outdated and ancient practice? Continue!

I repeat. Continue!

Do you know the Jewish Authority and the Catholic Church hold the original scripts of the bible, and they spend a lot of money preserving them as Arts?

You have to study the evolution of the bible. The bible was first " the heard word of God". This was in the ages of Adam to Moses. The Egyptians brought civilization, they learn and thought people to read and write. Then God gave His words in writing. He wrote them on a stone. Then they progressed into writing on scroll. This had the disadvantages of being very bulky and easy to wear and tear. Then the British civilization brought about writing in booklets. That is what you call bible. The word "Bible" was given to the book in the British civilization.
So you see, you are worried for nothing. GOD cares about his words being preached and practised. Hardcopy or softcopy is nothing to God.
I agree some people mail be redirected to porn sites. That is assuming everyone uses the internet to read the bible. That is assuming there are no bible applications. My brother, free your mind.

That's not true. Most people use hard copy at home. E Bible is used outside and at church for convenience. You can leave church and go wherever you want to go without the inconvenience of carrying a heavy Bible around.

You do remember that there was a time when the scriptures were read from scrolls. How would it have looked if you went to church with a massive scroll, one each for each book of the bible, meaning you would have carried 66 scrolls?

Before you are quick to judge bible was once made of tablets(stones) it took so many years before it was later printed on materials and then papers. There has been alot of transformation due to changes.
This days we are in the generation of smart equipments and soon tablets and phones might just replace the bible.
Its all about the contents in it and not the materials that matters.

Sorry not sorry, but i would say you lack wisdom...how can the holy scripture should be inside the a phone that is enhance with other apps, the bible works alone...nothing is been attached to it...so It Is Very Wrong For The Bible To Be Made On A Device.
