My own is that only a stupid bank manager will leave his job in Nigeria to go to America to do menial /odd jobs. I think that's the line of argument.

You think people leave the country solely to make money? have you heard of "quality of life"?

The OP, is pained .....
Deeply pained that he has missed an opportunity of traveling to the US.

Let me remind you that the minimum wage of the US is 11usd per hour.
The least minimum house rent is 700usd per month.
If you are not an oringo man, you will save very well, full stop.

There is LIFE in America, people find it difficult saving that's all....
Most people who find life difficult there, are people who sneaked into the US.

People live quality life in Nigeria as well. The kind of life some people in Nigeria I know live can't even be gotten in the United States. Most times people who leave the country are frustrated people. In America millions are frustrated as well. Established people won't make such a silly move.

Carry go indeed. Lies! Even college graduates in America at 35 yrs old are still staying with their parents while young females sell their body to be able to pay back their student loans. I am talking about citizens not Nigerians who will be forever be third class citizens. You can only fool people who ain't smart. The horrors in Nigeria is child's play when compare to what Americans are going through. I have provided links to back up every single of my argument. Now read and read well, Americans in their mid 30's are still living with their parents in their millions.

Forget traveling. That's for lazy folks how can't face life head on and make the best out of every situation. Even war torn Libya got billionaires. Now show me a single Nigeria in America with just $200,000 in retirement account after slaving themselves for donkey years. That's pocket change for Alaba boys who go to China for business. You guys are really suffering man, I can assist you with $200 to pay your rent.

it's obvious you are not getting it.
People live with their parents there.
Many not just some.
But the QUALITY Of LIFE there is superlative.
Even the NIGERIAN that washes dishes is still comfortable in the US.
Now compare it to a NIGERIAN that washes dishes in Nigeria.
Low cost houses are about 500-700usd monthly.
That's for about 2 bedroom flat....that's expensive.
While Minimum wage is 11 USD per hour.
U are allowed to work for 12hours a day to avoid breakdown, however some Nigerians work for 18hours.
A total will give you roughly 4000 USD monthly.
Light Tax is about 60usd monthly
Internet (WiFi) about 60usd monthly
Subtract 120 and 700 usd from 4000usd....
The rest are yours as a dish washer....

My BROTHER are you POOR....??
meanwhile quality shirts are sold at 4usd.
IPhone 8: sold at 700usd.
Laptops sold at 400usd.
...an average designers perfume at 40usd.
That means in just a month , u have purchased all these..
People don't repair things here, rather they buy new ones.
I just gave you what the poorest person earns, that's someone without papers.
This is first hand information, because I dey there...
Ask yourself why PEOPLE are eager to PULL their relatives to the US..??

Quality of life in Nigeria? where? Banana Island, Lekki, VI at what cost? 24 hour air pollution a.k.a generator. May this so called managers and/or their relatives who earn 1.5 million naira/month not end up with diseases that require expensive treatment e.g. 3x a week dialysis or chemotherapy. Who knows, their employers might decide to give them months off work and still pay them.

How many years of work(without "cheating/connections" did it take them to successfully climb the ladder and become managers?

You want to talk quality of life? Why do I even bother sad

I thought they said Saudi Arabia or Pakistan is the most polluted country in the world? what do I know.

Anyways Don't be distracted. Let's start again shall we? How do you think a bank manager can afford to continue to pay say for example 3x a week dialysis or chemotherapy or radiotherapy?

We can understand your pains.
It's better you get to the US and be brainwashed.
Than allowing NIGERIAN Government brainwash you into voting them again and again.
I just pray you visit someday and go back to Nigeria.

A NIGERIAN BANK MANAGER can't meet up such courses of chemotherapy/ Dialysis, because Nigeria's health insurance scheme is grossly inadequate even as a Nigerian citizen. cry cry

I just wonder if America ppl dnt have much savings as d OP wants us to blv, how come our yahoo guys & other fraudsters making much money as huge as #20-50million at once sometimes?? Like some here once said, d point of dis debate shuld lie on INDIVIDUALITY. It is absolutely bias not to compare d economy & d amenities one stand to gain as a citizen or resident of both countries.,

No mind the OP jawe. Let him remain there and continue being ignorant of the truth. If he knows how much some of these Americans have saved up on an average ehn. That's why our yahoo boiz are chopping their money nah.

And yes, he also failed to talk about the economy and amenities in the countries. America is blessed with all everything buh what does Naija have? Absolutely nothing except corrupt leaders siphoning money.

I blame the cavitated Nigerian Government.
Even Buhari seeks Treatment abroad.
If the OP is willing and has up to 200k for transport, I will support and expose him to the right agencies.
Flight fare costs about 1100usd....return ticket.. (Ethiopia airline).
Mind you it's Just for a visit.....that's all.
Student Visa will be difficult, because it's expensive, because you must show an evidence of school admission.

Ive been reading your posts. God bless you jawe. The OP really needs to be outta Naija first, then i am sure he would start talking from the other side of his mouth.

I have been to America earlier this year too and i spent 6months there. I was there on a student visa and the visa. Had to come back to take care of some things and I'm planning on returning back soon to finally settle there. The snag is just that i have to contact the sch again to pay another SEVIS fee cos the one I'm one will be due by November.

You said something about connectin OP to right agencies. Please i need that for a relative too who has been denied visa several times already. Thanks.

And do you have idea how much a cheap one way ticket will be around December cos that's when I'm thinking of returning back there.

What most of these guys dont even know is that Lagos economy with a GDP of $137billion in 2017 is bigger than almost 20 states in America and thats when calculated in nominal GDP. If we use the PPP (purchasing power) terms, Lagos economy is bigger than over 35 states in America. We take time to study these things and dont post popular opinion or beer parlor talk.

I have read the debates here .

Nigeria is d fastest place to make money only if u indulge in sharp practices.
I was working with mtn prior my relocation to Australia. I am currently schooling and I save at least 3000dollars a month.
It took me 3.years of dedicated savings to gather 3million naira which I used as my first deposit.

I've spent only 6months in a Australia and I've saved over 12,000 dollars that is over 3milion naira. I have bought a rav4 jeep during this time, married an American citizen during this time, paid my tuition fee of 8000dollars during this time.

My dept at mtn was outsourced nd salary was adjusted to 48,000. This is less than what I earn a day working as a student. So how much do u expect such person to save from a salary of 48,000 naira
Frankly speaking , Nigerians get under paid in the entire West African region
