Bayelsa State today is making history as dignitaries form different parts of the state converge in Bayelsa today for the dedication of Bayelsa Ecumenical Centre which is designed for christian worship and is capable of sitting at least 10,000 people in the main auditorium.

The dedication is still ongoing and is being aired live on AIT station. Those on ground today to make this ceremony successful is the governor of Bayelsa State himself, Gov. Sariake Dickson, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) along with the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle, his predecessor, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and Bishop Felix Omobude, President Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Congregation was then trilled by the introduction of a special guest of honor all the way from USA with his wife, American gospel singer, Ron Kenoly as he sang and performed most of his hit tracks back in they days "Righteousness", Sing for joy etc"

The vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo wasn't able to make it and he was ably represented by the Aso Rock Chaplaincy. Gov. Sariake also inaugurated the management team who is vested with the responsibility of managing that 10,000 capacity mega edifice.

The building located in Igbogene, which commenced over five years ago, the Bayelsa government said, also houses two libraries, including an e-library, special locations for retreats, cafeteria and a restaurant.

This is a waste, God doesn't dwell in a state funded building rather in the heart of citizens. You should have built a hospital or more schools. Is never too late convert it to hospital or school for the good of your people.

as for people different faiths you and i know very well that adeboye is the most respected pastor all over the world and nigeria so i dont think other people of different faith wouldnt mind him pastoring the occassion if they invitedInvited anotherr pastor i know u would still complain as for public funds yes workers are being owed but thank God he built the church so as workers would come to pray for the governor'schange of heart all he need is prayers not condemnation is better he built achurch than a shrine

More Churches, More Corruption, More Unemployment, More Economical Decay, More Religious people.

The African man thinks he can pray himself out of underdevelopment and poverty because he has religion. The Bible says while the Earth remains, summer and winter, night and day, seedtime and harvest time shall never cease. He has to think (Use his God-given brain) and innovate out of poverty.

It deeply disturbs me that our Politicians and society do not take the position of People Empowerment and clear economic policy towards nation building. They have ceased to ignore the history of nations that embarked on a journey that transitioned them from peasantry to economic greatness. The Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution was possible when people stopped thinking that crop failure was not caused by angry gods but rather due to lack of better irrigation and well-nurtured ground. Limitation in crop growth is not due to the anger of God but rather due to a need to invent synthetic fertilizer. It’s like praying against accidents on bad roads when the roads are in bad conditions and driver’s license is easy to acquire. We will have fewer accidents only when we fix our roads. The life expectancy in Japan is 88, in Nigeria, it's 47.7, yet Japanese are more into Buddhism while Nigerians are more into Christianity and Islam.

We believe we have the right God, true but God will not cheat people who are committed and work hard to have safe transportation, efficient healthcare, quality education, efficient energy generation over people who have a sense of entitlement with government institutions that are fundamentally corrupt.

This is his second tenure. But I don't welcome what he did. All those pastor he invited are all after their private jet.

So you are telling me that workers that worked for a whole month should go a church that is been built with his or her money to go and pray for the man that refuses to pay. Common. Meanwhile the governor receives his own money.
How can someone who has not been paid and hungry pray?
In that case let the governor build worship centres for other faith .
