I am in hot soup... I got a laptop which has 1GB ram for 2 slots and i thought of upgrading it. I did, and now have 5GB ram on the system. FF to today, i decided to make up my Dell inspiron 3000 series to 5GB ram since i have a 1 GB ram. I forgot i didnt ahut down the system, i opened the cover and pulled out the RAM only to discover it has just one slot for RAM. Was so disappointed, i put back the RAM, and screw the cover. Now i tried to do some work and opened the laptop, Power indicator just blicks and the laptop does not power.

Really in a bad shape now, someone should please help me.

Problem solved. Pulled out the RAM again, fixed it back, removed the battery, held the power button for 20secs or so, put back the battery and turned on. It works fine. Thanks

Went blank, that means you can see some characters right? Since u say it's the back light.

Look into the screen and see if u will see anything, before that when u switch it on, press the caplock button to see if it is responding well I.e off and on as u press it.

Let's try this first.

1. Boot into bios setup, shut down your laptop, power it on and keep pressing F10, when u enter setup, press F9 to restore default settings and F10 to save. Your PC will restart now check to see if it is working.

Still doesn't work?

2. Press window key + R together, a box will pop up, type in regedit.

Locate
HKEY_CURRENT_USER >>
control Panel >>
Mouse >>

Click the mouse folder, you will see Double Click Height and also Double Click Width.

Click on the first one and change the value to 4, do same for the other one too.

Save and restart.

Still doesn't work?

Did u recently update your drivers?

Reply ASAP.

Ok, it's either the signal cable is not connected well, probably shifted due to the fall or the back light is bad.

At this junction, I'll advice you take it to a laptop engineer for proper check up.

Please my Dell inspiron with windows 10 is giving me headache. My touchpad stopped working last week, the system was reset and it resumed working. Today, touchpad stopped again. Nothing has made it work, resetting, system formatting and there is nothing wrong with the hardware. Please can anyone help me.

It has nothing to do with being Apu, ur laptop needs servicing apart from that, hope you have at least 15% free space in your hdd.

LOL.. How sure are u? I'll advice you take it to a laptop engineer to check it for you, since you've reset and even format, I believe it's a hardware issue.

Try restore default settings in bios setup and see.

4 right?

Hmm, since you said you didn't update your drivers, I'll suggest you reload your os and if it's still the same thing, then definitely the mouse pad is bad and u will need to change it.
