Hi Mamas, pls welcome me. I have been a senior guest on nairaland since like 5-6 years ago. I officially registered to nairaland yesterday cos of this page. I have been an ardent follower of this page right from the pregnancy thread. I initially registered myself (for my mind o) for March born cos I share the same LMP as nicoleswizz. I have been following her, giddyperson and sansa143 back to back. i was kind of scared when they all gave birth and doctor kept on telling me 'baby's head is not down yet'. story for another day. I want to thank all mothers on this thread for taking out time to provide solutions when its needed. Baby Israel is 6months and 11days

Is there anyone that have used fenugreek seed for increase in Breast milk supply?

How efficient was it?
How do one use it?
It was 8 days postpartum and i felt i wasn't producing enough for my LO. I took the seeds, soaked overnight and drank the water.
Didnt see much difference.
Then i bought the capsules 500mg and took 2caps 3 times daily in less than 24 hours i saw a huge difference

Hello mamas, pls my daughter had her 9months immunisation yesterday. Pls do babies run high temperature as a result of d 9months immunisation?

Her temperature has been high since 10:00pm yesterday. I hv used paracetemol for her n lukewarm to birth her twice.

I heard/read it doesnt cause high temperature but when we took ours it did. When it didn't go down, I had to take her to the hospital. We were later treated for malaria after taken a test.
Give pcm or better still baby ibuprofen but if it persist please take her to the hospital.

Hello mommas.... congratulations on the New born babies. May God bless and keep them in Jesus name! I've attached a picture of my baby's navel. It was small initially but seems to have blown up as he grew. He's two months old. What can we do bout it? Has anyone here experienced same and it went back in? Thanks!

Ordinary first time? Of course she won't take it well. Give her time to adjust, don't mix anything for her abeg

spiceeamiee:
Ha! Mama! This singing and dancing sontin, we go get the time so? grin grin. This may actually work with my baby as she likes being tickled and talked to but where the time na? Maybe only weekends. You wrote about 6month old babies. My baby is only 4months and just took cereal for the first time yesterday but she is not taking it well so I'm thinking of mixing this one (rice cereal) with her pap plus formular while I buy Heinz which she can then drink alone (with formular). Hope say we no go purge sha grin

I have packed the cereal jare. Will just wait a while. Will keep giving her formula and Breast milk for now. Thanks mama's @feddy27 @orente21 @hunniesuzie

helovesme:

Apologies. I didn't realise your baby is 4 months old.

I am not an advocate of introducing solids that early. I am also not an advocate of ogi.

mixing rice cereal, formula and ogi together sounds like too much to feed a baby that young. personally, I will never do it.

I believe that a baby should be on strictly milk (breast milk or formula or both) for the first 6 months of their life.

Your baby is obviously not ready to be weaned. why not stop the solids and continue with just milk? There is no need to rush/force her.

at 6 months, they have better head control, greater sense of smell/taste/colour and their organs are more developed to process/digest solids. the chances of them becoming fussy eaters are also slimmer.

my son was on strictly milk (breastmilk+formula) for his first 6 months and he didn't have his first spoon of cereal till he clocked 6months 1day. Looking back, I have no regrets.

This looks like umbilical hernia. When you touch it, does it hurt yiur baby? Does he cry or flinch when you touch it? If it is, you baby would need minor surgery to correct it but still, take your baby to a hospitalto have it checked out

Also, I bought this 3-in-1 post partum belt from jumia but I've never used it. Infact; I don't know how it works! There was no manual that came with it.

I'm 2 months post partum via CS which is why i wasnt in a hurry. and want to start now. Has any mama here used it and where does each one go? I've labelled each A.B.C and would really appreciate some insight. Thanks!

My babies had this too. My husband had a very big one as a baby but it has disappeared now. They called it umbilical hernia. There is a hole at the navel that didn't cover properly. The doctor will assess it and let you know if a minor surgery will be required but it is not usually a big deal. A lot of kids have it and grow with it to old age. Some parents decide to do the surgery for a girl so that the navel will not be too big.

My kids will not have the surgery. I see them play with it a lot. They like to push it in and pull it out at will. Just don't let them hide things there. grin

umbilical Hernia...my daughter has it too. Was advised by the dr. to let it be. It also poses no health risk for the baby.It should regularize when baby is older if not see a pediatrician for possible surgery.
