If it's umbilical hernia, better to have another doctor give you a second opinion and if surgery is required, you should consider it. I think it happens when there is an opening in the abdominal cavity and the intestines are pushing out instead of staying where the shoild be. My SIL's daughter had it and she kept saying she won't have the surgery until one day, she woke up and her child's belly was swollen like she was 9months pregnant. Turns out because the intestines were not where try should be, the had the opportunity to swell so it kept swelling and swelling since there space for it to until it almost killed the girl. Not saying that's what will happen to your child but please have it checked out by a doctor

My babies had this too. My husband had a very big one as a baby but it has disappeared now. They called it umbilical hernia. There is a hole at the navel that didn't cover properly. The doctor will assess it and let you know if a minor surgery will be required but it is not usually a big deal. A lot of kids have it and grow with it to old age. Some parents decide to do the surgery for a girl so that the navel will not be too big.

My kids will not have the surgery. I see them play with it a lot. They like to push it in and pull it out at will. Just don't let them hide things there. grin

I see someone has given you tips on how to use it but you can't wear it under clothing. It's too bulky. Better to get something thinner that you can wear under clothes as they are more comfortable.

.

Also, I bought this 3-in-1 post partum belt from jumia but I've never used it. Infact; I don't know how it works! There was no manual that came with it.

I'm 2 months post partum via CS which is why i wasnt in a hurry. and want to start now. Has any mama here used it and where does each one go? I've labelled each A.B.C and would really appreciate some insight. Thanks!

I'm back once more smiley. Mums that had to travel with newborns (0-3months) within Nigeria by air; what was the procedure like as per airlines; ticket; seats; clothes making formula on board etc? What can I do to make it more convenient?

Also wats the procedure for getting an international passport(Nigerian) for a newborn and cost? Thanks!

Ticket : No big deal. Just buy for mom and infant. Infant tkt cost is usually about 5% of adult's.
No seat, you carry your baby. Flights within Nigeria is less than two hours, most are 45 mins and an hour so if you feed baby just before boarding, there might not be need for a second feeding or nappy change. Babies don't need Id for local flights.

Baby passport requirements :
Baby's birth certificate
Consent letter from baby daddy
Copy of baby daddy passport data page or voters card
Copy of mom's passport data page
Two passport photos of baby
Passport fees
Baby's biometrics will be taken on submission at passport office

I will suggest she travels with the baby's birth certificate to avoid any harassment or embarrassment at the airport just in case she is asked to provide proof that she is the mother of the baby.

My dear, we still have a long way to go, I guess. More reason every parent should be more security conscious. I do travel with my grand kids without any documentation and no one, not even once have I been disturbed or stopped.

Cost depends on the passport office, your bargaining power and how fast or slow you want it done, as per Naija things.

It's same cost as adults passport Sha.

As nursing mothers, has any1 ever forgotten food on fire till it got burnt?

Have you ever forgotten to regfrigerate or put that food in the freezer till it got spoilt?

Have you ever forgotten to cook that "little" food(say white okro or ewedu) till it dried away?

Have you ever forgotten to make that call or reply an sms?

The list is endless...

I'm asking these questions because i keep wondering if i'm not a waster(in this buhari time)!
I dont intend to nbe one but motherhood has done all these to me ooo...!

Hubby complains initially but now,he sees and understand why its always so... Even though he still gives me#side eyes# sometimes...

I feel like im missing out in all these, trying to combine motherhood and "wifehood"... lol

As i am now,im sooo exhausted!

I feel like crying...

How did our mothers did it?! My momm had six of us...

Sometimes,i just feel like i cant...

God help your daughter naw...

Someone sent me Ardyss from UK. It's a total body shape wear but you can find something similar at Balogun, those women on the right that sell OK underwear just close to UBA building. It goes under and looks like a swimming wear but it really compresses your tummy. It can get uncomfortable if worn for too long though

When it became frequent, I realised I needed to take a chill pill and breathe.

Motherhood+wifehood isn't beans but it's just God's grace that sees us thru it all.
