A man identified as Buhari Umar who was arrested by police operatives over a "minor" offence in Delta State - was seen eating in a hospital under a chain which was used to retrain him. According to reports, Buhari who is still awaiting trial, was brought to the hospital from Ogwashi-uku prison in Delta state after he was diagnosed tuberculosis.

He was reportedly taken to the hospital with a friend who took the picture....

To be honest, Government should take a drastic look into these awaiting trial issue, almost all prisons in Nigeria is flooded with these Awaiting trial individuals which am sure a handful size of em are innocent fellows

majority of those in Nigeria prisons are awaiting trial, many die waiting and the most annoying thing is that majority of them committed no crime, they were just picked up and dumped in prison . speedy trials of detainees should be looked into. this is really sad

Innocent people are dying in Prison for very minor human errors.

Look at this man, it brings tears to my eye that a Nigerian like me can be treated like this in his own country just because he is not part of the elite class.

We all should not deceive ourselves. The elites of this country cut across all regions and ethnicity and the fate of the common man is the same everywhere in the north and south.

Until the youths understand that the elites don’t care how much you bash yourselves online along ethnic, religious and regional lines, they will continue to bear the brunt of a failed system that does not know how to take care of its own.
