Modified.

If you're planning on opening a skrill account, read this first.

I opened a skrill account few months ago for the purpose of receiving payment for translation and transcription jobs which I carry out for localization firms in Egypt. I had been using payoneer for receiving such payments in the past but later opened a skrill account because this new Egyptian company payed only through skrill.

I opened the skrill account and have used it to receive payment thrice, until skrill informed me that I have to verify the account so that a certain limit placed on the account will be lifted.

I tried several times to verifiy the account using my national ID card and the other required document, by snapping the picture with my web cam, but the skrill reps kept informing me via email that the pictures I took with the webcam are blurred and that I should retake them. I did it for 4 times consecutively, yet they kept saying the same thing; that the documents are rejected cos the images are blurred and not clear. I then decided to send a complaint to help@skrill.com. The rep who responded suggested I use a high resolution phone camera to snap the ID and the other utility bill and attach as files and send to customerverification@skrill.com.

That was what I did. I received an autoreply saying that they have received my email and will get back to me soon.

To my greatest chagrin and consternation, I checked my email last night, only to find an email from them saying that they checked my account and discovered some suspicious things therein and for that reason they have closed my account and that was final. I was in total shock cos I never contravened any of their laws whatsover, so why close my account abruptly without an explanation as to what I did wrong? I sent them an email demanding an explanation as to why my account will be closed for no specific reason. The person that responded was saying nonsense without specifying exactly what I did wrong. This is the height of insensitivity and callousness. I have never had such experience before.

As it stands now, with the closure of my account by these bastards, all my money there is gone. Thats many hours of work down the drain. This is the worst epayment platform one can open an account with.

I will embark on an online campaign to sensitize people about the dangers and folly in opening account with these thieves.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but read my update above. Skrill is wack.
