The person that scammed you is a fellow youth corp member. The name that was used to register that phone no is "Samuel Corper". So, if you know anybody by that name, you can take it up

Your greediness has lured you into paying such amount. There is no reason you should pay for recruitment jobs, even if it for real. Get the job, then you can recompensate whoever has helped you.

It's either your clearance form or your documents from camp. I feel their should be orientation about this scam to corp member because virtually all outgone corp member had gotten this text. The same format and same sketchy story.

OP solablings sorry oooo, your eyes don open. Report the story to the nearest police and EFCC office also the account name, they would track the individual who is making use of the account.

Contact EFCC, you have his phone number and that of his in-law, his bank details and bvn so that's enough info to track him with.

Any Job demanding for money to recruit you is not even your job in the first place..

Someone shared similar message that was sent to him on our WhatsApp group. He expressed surprise that the person even knew his name. It may not be greed after all on the part of the OP. Likely some fetish mechanism was involved. Talk n gree. Take heart OP

I am certain the person is not a corper, I can register a sim with any name to show you what you wish to see. Why would anyone call himself Samuel Corper if not to pose as a corper.

The closest thing you could use to track them, is through the bank account he used in paying them. At least the security agencies would know which area they withdrew the money and if possible have their face and biometrics.

This set of scammers are good.....same format for more than 10yrs and still hammering

He surely is a current/former corp member because I can remember that even some people register their sim with their professions such as Wale welder, tunde vulganizer etc.

However, you are right, the best way will be to take the matter up with the bank to unveil the identity of the account holders.

The person that scammed you got your Information from End of service year magazine/ photo album, he's the same batch with you although they use names of those that served in higher places like oil firms, bank or federal agencies, I had similar experiences, although I was not scammed but they were using my name and code to scammed people because I served in NNPC, I got to know when those they scammed started calling my number, I had to report the case to EFCC. I guess is high time NYSC stop publishing corps details on end of service magazine.
So sorry for your experience.

All I can say is you were not smart and you were desperate for a job you didn't even legitimately apply for!

Everyone knows that after service the magazine which has photos and contacts of all Corp members gets into the hands of who knows who!

There are questions you should have asked to verify if truly you knew that person before running to dash the goat 50k

He is not a Corp member, I passed out April 2016 and same people called using same name and format but me be street so I code d format sharply. They know Samuel is a popular name so they would look for anybody named Samuel and they would clone his identity.

This is the format, the op can confirm if it's same. Samuel (fake) would text you notifying you about a position in shell that his uncle just told him about and you should reply him urgently. Then you would call his number, he spoke to me in Igbo and he gave me his so called uncles number but he told me before I start the job I would have to buy the registration form ( Na their I know sey Na scam).

I called the uncle and he was like "let the security men bring you into my office", I told him that "I wasn't in Owerri". He asked me "how would I get the form" and I told him he could forward it to my email. He said okay that did his nephew notify me about the registration and i said yes and he asked how much, I told him 5k and he said it was 15k.

I told him okay but he should send the form so that I can fill it up. Also, I would look for cash to send to him two days later since he said the job would close soonest. Na so Bros para o. He said, Na your papa get this company, I laugh tell am sey na your papa and grandpa's give me money keep for you .

She made a mistake, although we may not be all be deceived by this particular scam but chances are, we all have made some mistakes in the past. All she needs is encouragement. The lesson here is for others who may fall for it.

It's a scam that runs all year. The scammers only need the NYSC yearbook to hatch it, so the danger is real.
