Its obvious you're one of those that pocketed this 700Million.....

Are you aware that the same ministry budgeted over 700Million for Website update last financial year?......

I was wondering when you were going to show up to defend your preferred thieves...

I don't need to 'build' a website to know when an unreasonable amount has been spent.

go to the website, check out if the domain name is unique to it or not; navigate the site...

how many pages are there;

why are some links to agencies truncated after the first page?;

what is the content? is it just about uploading 'news'?

how interactive is the site?

when you are able to answer those questions, you can come back & chat from an enlightened perspective...

Do you agree satellite links, servers, hardwares and sundry infrastructure become part of the deal?

Do you agree that dedicated developers, engineers would be needed to maintain this site?

I posted a link earlier.

Take a look at it:

stop dribbling at the mouth with confusion...

you are going round in aimless circles trying to defend what cannot be defended.

when was the NNPC contract presented to the FEC?

when did pmb as president or minister, append his signature to the said contracts?

look, you are free to indulge in your 'circle jerk' defence of your preferred looters.

those of us that want better transparency & accountability will, in our own little ways, continue to put the government on its toes...

you & your likes can continue to reap from the filth of unbridled corruption presently going on...
You do realise the money wasnt for a 'contract' but rather was payment of NNPC's cash call to JV partners right?

You also do realise that the issue of breach of due process has been clarified with a confirmation that it didn't necessarily need to pass the desk of the board chairman?... You do realise the case has long been closed right?

So why exactly do you still dwell on a closed case when you should be focused on a more reasonable debate on the N700m portal?

please ehn, dont think that because many are not experts in ICT makes them a fool..
please check out this link; https://digital.com/blog/how-much-does-website-cost/

$2m is outrageous..

also, try to search for the top ten web designer in the world and see their charges, its not even upto $1m..

Industry averages

CIO Magazine conducts an annual State of the CIO survey and gathers data to compile an average spending budget across numerous companies. For 2013, it found that the average IT budget, as percent of revenue, is 5.2%. This is a slight increase from the 2012 average, which was 4.7%. Overall, businesses seem to spend between 4-6% of their revenue on IT, and this range is recommended by CIO Magazine.

Company size generally has a large effect on budget size, and should be taken into consideration when planning your fund allocation. Small and medium businesses surprisingly often outspend larger ones when it comes to their IT budget (SearchCIO.techtarget.com):

The average small company (less than $50 million in revenue) spends 6.9% of their revenue on IT
Mid-sized (between $50 million – $2 billion) spend 4.1%
Larger companies (over $2 billion) spend a relatively tiny 3.2%
As technology becomes a greater part of business operations, budgets have been steadily growing. The 2017 survey found that enterprise organizations project a 4.8% increase in 2017 IT budgets, and SMBs predict a slightly larger increase of 8% from 2016.

It’s important to note however that the companies that invest the most in IT aren’t necessarily the best performers. On average, the most successful small and medium companies are more frugal when it comes to IT spending (as long as they do it judiciously). Regardless of amount of spending, if investments aren’t made and used wisely, it will be reflected in that company’s returns and productivity.

let me put this out there even though it digresses from the topic a bit...

the president (yes, pmb) awarded an erosion control contract worth over N800m for a town in Kaduna in Jan 2017...

now, that contract awarded passed through FEC, but the question is, why should the president award a contract that should be in the domain of FMWH or FMEnv...?

mind you I didn't say 'presidency'... but president...

for those who chose not to understand the implication, it means that, a project might be appropriately budgeted for, but its implementation can be questionable...

a word is enough for those with a clear conscience...

Dude, N1m is nothing as salary per month in Nigeria. Many young guys and girls fresh from school earn that working with good firms that is largely oil and gas related but not limited to that sector only.

Maybe they think all those guys driving new cars and living in Lekki are yahoo boys and girls.

These are the people that blow a gasket when they hear that a website could cost $2m.

So the equivalent of $2m was spent on an integrated portal? Should I head into the streets to protest that it should have been procured for N200k ?

Above is the only snag there. Are there enough competent people to manage such complex IT solutions or will extra funds be spent to procure the services of the likes of Accenture to manage it on their behalf?
you will make more sense and shine more light if you could place at the ordinary MAN's domain what has changed. That would realy help trust me.

Entry level HND engineering graduate in NLNG makes more than N1m when the whole annual salary and upfront is broken into 12months.

The dude I referenced about the N30m/annum is someone I know personally, and there is nothing special about the offer he got.

They believe their fellow yahoo boy can make 1 million dollars from swindling but it is not right for a ministry of mines to have a portal at a fraction of that figure.

It is OK for Facebook to pay its employees so much but simply unacceptable for Naija.

72,000 dollars, no engineer worth his salt with international experience would touch that figure.
