Protest rocks NPA recruitment in Kano

KANO —There wasmilddrama in Kano, yesterday, as some young men, underthe aegisofYoung Pharmacists Group, stormed Tahir Guest Palacewhere alleged secret interview for jobplacementwas being conductedbyNigerian PortsAuthority, NPA, byHumanResource Manager, Bukar Yahaya, for selectedapplicants.
The group, ledbyits chairman, Lukman Bashir,protested non-invitation ofhis members for theinterview.
He said: “We got information ofsecret recruitmentbyNPA in Kano aftera similar exercise intheNorth-East, and we stormed this place to ascertain from the Human Resource Manager whypharmacists are left out.”
Bashirappealedto theFederalGovernment to wade intothematterandmake itopen to allprofessionals, irrespective of background.
“I want to callonPresidentMuhammadu Buhari to haltthis glaring injustice against less-privileged Nigeriansbymaking itopen to qualifycandidates,”hesaid.
Vanguardreportsthat applicants, who were mostly children oftheaffluentin the society massed at AbdulAzeez Yari Conference hallofTahir GuestPalace for theexercise.
It was alsolearned that the Kano secret recruitmentwassequelto asimilar exercise intheNorth-East last September.
Contacted onthe veracityoftheclaimthat theinterview wasbeingsecretlyconducted, theHumanResource Manager, NPA, Bukar Yahaya, said: “I’m a civilservant, I don’t havethe authority to speak to the press.”

my brother I keep wondering when all this whom u know process will stop in this country, now take a look from their advert they keep on bringing all sort of marine professions as their requirements nothing like general but to my surprise when invitation for test started rolling I now start seeing those applied for general which is not stated during their advertising for position just to discourage so many eligible applicants but secretly told their insiders to imploy their candidates to apply irrespective of the so called requirements as earlier stated. only God can save this country.
