So many persons need to know more about visiting, hustling and possible getting work permit or green card in the schengen countries...

I wish there could be someone to make this thread lively by giving us his experience over there and possible opportunities towards gaining green card in these countries. I myself would appreciate if there's anyone out there who could help.....

But we won't mind hearing those experiences if they would help us make some decisions. We need ur ideas on moving to Europe. Thanks for the reply once again. But we don't mind knowing abt ur experience. We could learn one or two things from it. The reason I'm asking is that an agent is working on a schengen visa for me currently but has refused to let me know what next before or after the 3months expires. He says I should just wait till the visa is out. But I need to know my options too and be prepared. He works with a company there who will be sending an invite for me.

Myself and others who will come through this thread will be grateful to know your experiences which ever country it may be, not necessarily Germany.

Not only in Western world but all over the world
Let the Visa come out first then you know the next step one step over the other and remember you might find luck on your way

Great thread. I've been planning to study in Canada with a view to settling there. My problem is I don't think my kids will be given a visa with me (I have 2 boys, 11 and 12). I like the idea of Germany because of its strong economy. I don't mind the language issue as I plan to learn german immediately although my studies will be in English. My kids are currently learning german and French in school so I think they'll be fine. I am looking at doing a Bachelors degree which is 3 years, giving me enough time to acquire a permanent stay. So my questions are:
Is this a good plan? I am widowed so I will be alone with my kids. I have some money so I should be reasonably comfortable until I find some work.
What towns do I need to avoid? Any advise would be much appreciated.

To travel to Europe is one thing, to settle down permanently (Residency) is another thing entirely. Really, It is no longer wise to choose to live illegally in Europe as it now very tight to carry out day to day activities without papers. I will like to state it here that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to switch to a residence permit in Europe if you entered with a visit visa. They have successfully blocked all loopholes which used to enable people to easily switch to Residence permit even if they came in with a visit visa.

Now, the ways through which you can get a residence permit includes...

Getting married to a citizen. Now, u are not allowed to get married in the country if u came in with a visit visa, even if you successfully get married, you won't be allowed to apply for a spousal visa from within the country, you will have to go back to your own country to make the application and trust me, its a taugh process and still, the visa is not guaranteed.

Another way is coming in as a student, which i think is the best option. Here u can get a job after graduation and apply for residency or if you are lucky to find love, you can easily get married and apply for a spouse visa without leaving the country and the visa is almost guaranteed.

Another option includes going as a skilled migrant specifically for those in IT and Medical fieds.

For those planning to seeks asylum, the chances of success is less than 20% and they end up sending you back home after wasting your time in detention camps. This route is strongly not advisable.
