He is saying that the China link may be a dead end because if you are planning a coup the last thing you do is travel to that country and meet those parties infront of the worlds media and before the eyes of your own president.

Its 2017, they could have organised the coup via twitter grin grin
basically what you are saying is china is as shocked like the rest of us,by whats going on in Zimbabwe !?

In order for the SA to militarily intervene SADC has to approve. Once approved, other countries like Botswana and Zambia should also contribute BUT I don't think they'll bother at this moment. Botswana wants Mugabe gone so the only action you'll see from their side is massive border enforcement just in case Zim refugees run towards it..... As for South Africa, Zuma/ANC has its eyes in the next month's party elections. Chances are, he won't even be South Africa's president by end of January.

NB: South African parliament won't approve the deployment of the SANDF to protect a dictatorship, the President is only stuck with only 400 soldiers.....

So, let's relax and look forward to Black Friday specials.
that's the last thing that would happen in a sane sub region a sitting head of state should not be left in the hands of vigilantes no matter how bad his crimes are. Following the text book you should know that when you look the other way when such a thing is happening,
It may soon repeat itself. Stake holders in the sub region should go in and free Mugabe and let him answer any case that may be made against him. Oh I forgot, guys in that region are only good for photo ops.

My hats out to SupremeCourt! I hail Ooo! Everything you bragged against him is now egg on your face. Shame! Here's Zimbabwe you bragged about invading, solve it and we will give you a sit among men. Now run along the Baba in Abuja is now trying to get u out of this one, again. Just this once, after this you will be left to be humiliated by Botswana.
Augustine, did you really just use one account to praise another account?

Seriously though, are you saying RSA should invade to support Mugabe, or shouldent?

French have more combat jets in your region than you do...
Yea and yet we organize the fall of dictators like its our past time. A very close friend of South Africa and a member of the SADC is in distress and you want to distract us with France. When has France influence in WA ever stopped us from interventions in any country?
Mugabe is bad, but he headed AU and he is a well know personality in the African struggle against white supremacy, very sympathetic to the cause of black South Africa but he is been caged like a fool right in front of your nose and you can't do anything. SADC is a joke. By now all the SADC president at should be holding a defense council meeting with their Chief of staffs or holding an emergency security meeting. The fact that you would allow rogue men to wield arms and insurance law and order around you tells a lot about your capabilities.

Your assumption being that SADC wants Mugabe to stay... has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, they want a coup?

Explain to me exactly why it is in SADCs best interests to launch an invasion to protect a dictator?

You all should take note that during the Gambia invasion, an election was conducted and Barrow won.

2) Yahyha Jammeh took the case to the court and lost.

3) He refused to step down but ECOWAS didn't say anything.

3) ECOWAS then asked him to step down calling a meeting as the court already affirmed Barrow the president in which series of meeting were called.

4) ECOWAS WENT TO uphold the constitutional rights of the Gambia people.

If SADC will interfere, it's not something that will be happening now. We all knew how much time it took ecowas to finally decide on Jammeh.

Exactly the point.

Unless the Zim military decides to make their hold on power permanent and start breaking UN human rights laws then they would have openly invited an external internvation.

As it stands it's just internal affairs.

The question is, on whose side will SADC fight? Cos everyone, except Mugabe and his family, wants Mugabe gone.
I am certain the Zimbabwean military would never hold unto power for more than few days.

Yea. The SADC convention is a joke then if there is no Clause in it that allows for an intervention by its members when a member state is in distress. Mugabe is under house arrest that alone is enough reason to take to arms. What if tomorrow we wake up to hear that this soldiers are killing and mutilating women and children in the streets of Harare? What if God forbid we begin to use the word "ethnic cleansing " again in Africa cus some "lily livered" head of state is unable to call for an emergency Security Council meeting in his sub region.

Even if SA organised the fall of Mugabe by now a well planned take over would have Mugabe out of Zimbabwe safe and secured waiting to start attending trials at the ICJ. You planned nothing my brother, if truly SA intelligence planned Mugabe's downfall then the guys in SA intelligence are the dumbest people that ever walked the earth. When we deposed Samuel Doe in Liberia we brought him home to Spend the rest of his life in the beautiful beaches of calabar admiring half naked women. That is how to depose a dictator.

Two different things here.
Same constitutional upheaval.

Gambia: Election Dispute

Zimbabwe: Brazen military Coup

Jammeh refused to give up power after mediation, Nigeria and ECOWAS invaded and ousted him.

Robert Mugabe apparently has been overthrown and under house arrest. The military is in control under whatever guise even if by a puppet—that is against the constitution which justifies an intervention else a certain Captain or Major elsewhere will have other ideas.

tdayof this is a brazen theft of power at the barrel of the gun in broad daylight. It won't happen in ECOWAS with big brother watching.

what you don't get is this. The moment those soldiers took to Arms against the recognized authority in the state they became militants, we have militants(as classified by any textbook you would see on strategic studies) so the present situation in Southern Africa as defined by the text book and by law is that armed men are holding the nation to ransom. It is a Banana Republic out there man and a sane sub region won't allow that.

1. The state of Zimbabwe did not request assistance, SADC nations have a mutual-defense pact. When Lesotho did we had SANDF and BDF troops in the country within hours.

2. Yes, obviously, Human Rights abuses and ethnic cleansing would warrant an intervention.

3. Doctrine of Successful Revolution - look it up, and stop behaving like a mongol.
