This story teller is not even ashamed to say he was too chicken hearted to fight, leaving one man to face three people.

Extreme stupidity is when an individual is deluded into thinking he's intelligent, hence, goes into public space to herald his extreme stupidity by making comments that'll make even a mad man appear sane.

NwaAmaikpe, whenever I read the first words of a seemingly stupid comment, the next thing I do is to check if it was NwaAmakpe's and truth be told, I never get disappointed.

You're full of bile, thrash and negativity, @ NwaAmaikpe.

It's big deal bro,wht he said is very right,if truely thy used POS,the chance of being caught is high..God bless naija..

Card based transactions i.e transfers don't show the names of sender or beneficiary. It is upon further investigation that the bank gets information on the account that was credited . Which takes a while and before such information can be given to the victim he would also need to provide a court order, because it's 3rd party information. And you don't get court order immediately you request for it bcoz you need police report affidavit and then you use that to get the court order, which also sometimes takes more than a week. In this period, of course, they account must have been cleared. The only thing that the bank would then do is to place a restriction on the account. The safest thing to do, is to have another account that is not card based. God is the utmost protector anyway. Theses guys are not playing

hmm. this country is finished. if the police that came were actually members, then those guys would be killed

Apart from this, pos settlement is usually T+1, you can actually, most likely if you report to your bank immediately before the end of the day, the merchant account will not be settled, also you can apply for dispute and you will get your money back.

The investigation takes months

Taa, gbafuo. Stop answering that name because you should have been the one that took the action. Whether you are a coward or brave, you will die when the time comes. Cowards die hundred times before their date. Picture of you crying like a baby is needed in Igbo land for confirmation.

It is a booming business in Abuja. Armed gangs posing as drivers and passengers and robbing unsuspecting passengers.
But what I don't understand if true is the use of POS to rob. That will be a foolish thing to do, as all POS are tied to an account,- an account is tied to a name and BVN. If robbers rob and use POS to debit accounts, the account tied to the POS is credited. All police investigation requires is to trace the account tied to the POS, and the criminals can easily be identified irrespective of the fact that they withdraw the money.
it would be very difficult to trace it the way u explained it being that you don't now their accounts, pos serial code, bank attached to such pos, name etc. Its quite untraceable since thousands of pple at that moment uses pos(clubs, bars, stores etc) and besides its Nigerian police in Nigeria we have not yet advanced to that traceable level

Are you in the banking sector? I am. And I am telling you what I know.
The accounting system and accounts has a Credit and Debit sides. You Debit an Account to Credit another.
There is always an audit trail. All transactions are traceable. It is much easier when an account is tied to a POS.

So an adult wasn't ashamed to tell us how he allowed people rob him simply because he was a coward.

To make it worse, he refused to join the brave man in subduing the robbers.
That's the height of cowardice!

How will such a man protect his lady let alone his family? Spineless weakling.

It is easy when you're ready to spend money sha. Take it to police, the next thing they will ask you is money to start the process. Be ready to part with initial 50k to block the account from bank, then if any of them is caught you will bring another money to transport him to the station depending on where he is caught. That's how you will keep spending money. It is through they can be tracked with the account but make sure you have plenty money, don't argue, I have personal experience with this

Your personal experience, as regrettable as it is, doesn't entirely sum up how the police addresses such situations. While I agree with you that there are extortionist officers, the case isn't always as you made it out. We all have our personal experiences too.

Who collects N50,000 to block an account? The bank or the police? I didn't get that part.

Bottomline, these acts of crime must not be left unaddressed, otherwise we would be creating a haven of crime for these greedy individuals.

Its easy but banker wont make it easy with their stupid policies. They will ask u to get court order and police report before they can act on any account

And what is difficult in getting that? Isn't that the standard practice across the world?

The police report is the cover the banks have, should the motive for effecting the block be inordinate.

Look at you. Do you think bvn is fool proof. You think it cannot be circumvented. What if they have insiders in the bank working hand in hand with them. Are you not a Nigerian. And do we even have a good database. Can you really track anyone down with bvn? Men Naija way na dark world things. Don’t trust the system

Kindly share your formula for BVN circumvention with me please as you seem to know more than everyone else. I doubt that you understand what financial security means. It's neither foolproof nor static. I trust the system to continue to revolutionize and get better. You may remain in your state of distrust. It's your entitlement.

See you...it's rampant in lagos - what boys are doing now is having 2 bank accounts, one with debit card issued and the other with no debit card issued - then put bulk of your cash in the no debit card account - just transfer small cash to the one with the debit card from time to time.... stay safe!

Even at that, they can still be traced. It's very easy doing all these things, but because our Police are underfunded and not well trained especially in forensic analysis.

let me tell u. My account was blocked because the date of birth on my BVN is different from the date of birth on my bank account. Took 3 days and a lot of back and forth to rectify it. Not to talk of different bank accounts with same BVN. All the accounts will be blocked.

You can say this because the guy fighting the robbers wasn't shot to death. It's good to apply wisdom in issues like this. As long as you're alive, you can make back all the money that was stolen from you. Foolishness isn't bravery.

yeah, i know. that is if you open it with no intention of commiting fraud. what i am saying is that if you bribe the right person you can open multiple accounts with different b.v.n number and the system will not detect it. i PERSONALLY know two of my friends that have multiple accounts with different names and b.v.n numbers. nah naija we dey anything can happen. if civil servants can compromise i.p.p.i.s nah b.v.n they can't compromise abi? bros with #50,000 to bribe the right person you will open multiple accounts with different names and b.v.n numbers.
