Is it Provocative For Muslims To Call Jesus A "PROPHET" by aribisala0(m): 7:46am On Nov 18, 2017 |
Quite often you hear Muslims say they respect Jesus. They repeatedly use the phrase Son of Mary and they refer to him as a "prophet" Clearly they do not believe he is the Son of God. This thread is not about whether he is the son of God or not. Rather it is about how much of your own beliefs you should air publicly when they conflict with Another. A few examples Christians believe that no one goesto heaven unless THROUGH Jesus therefore Muslims will not go to heaven .There is no negotiating that .That is a core belief not jut about Mslis but anyone. Is it acceptable to keep saying that in public. Traditionalists believe in many deities and so any relgion that says there is only one deity CANNOT be true shoud they come out publicly to denounce Islam as a false teaching The belief that Jesus is not the son of God undermines EVERYTHING about Christianity calling into doubt it fundamental foundation. If Jesusis not the son of Godthen what is the point of Christianity. This is a legitimate belief to have and one that is aired publicly ven in so called Christian countries ISit provocative for Muslims to say "Jesun son of Mary is a prophet" and not the son of God and is it acceptable for Christians in like vain to say PUBLICLY what Christianity teaches about prophets like Muhammed who d noot acknowledge Jesus as son of God? 1 Like |

Stop beating around the bush. You were taught Christianity, and it is expected that whatever you are taught, you should apply wisdom. First you didn't want to "ascertain" if Jesus is truly "Son of God", and yet you fixated on it that without it, Christianity has no base. Your belief is yours, and I respect it. The same way you were taught the only way to God is via Jesus, is the same way the Quran says all other religions apart from Islam are untrue and not pure. There were Jews before Christ came, and Moses was clearly the Prophet who laid down the doctrine Jewish use. And the Bible didn't claim that Jesus came to wipe off Jewish people, and in fact, Christianity was created and followed after the death of Jesus. Unlike Islam where Mohammed (SAW) had the Qur'an delivered himself, and Moses had the 10 commandments delivered himself, the Bible was assembled by different set of people long after the death of Jesus. Muslim accord the same respect to all Prophets, from Adam to Mohammed (SAW). To believe in your Son Of God mantra, you need to define what it means. The Qur'an stated that God has no wife nor child. He created humanity. All the prophets were human first before becoming "men of God". Hold on to your belief, and care less about what others think about it. 7 Likes 1 Share |

There is nothing provocative about it as it only shows the extent of their revelation about Jesus. JESUS WAS AN APOSTLE! "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus" (Heb. 3:1). JESUS WAS A PROPHET! "This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee" (Mt. 21:11). This is where the muslims got their revelation from. JESUS WAS AN EVANGELIST! "For the Son of Man is come to seek and save that which was lost" (Lk. 19:10). JESUS WAS A PASTOR! "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep" (Jn. 10:11). JESUS WAS A TEACHER! "The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, Rabbi, we know that Thou art a teacher come from God" (Jn. 3:2). 3 Likes |

RapportNaija: God is God . He is a Creator. He does not need a wife to have a son. If God Almighty says " this is my Son " , who are we to say it is not so. For example God created earthworm to be hamaphrodite , ie with male and female organs. A worm does not need a partner to reproduce. God designed it that way . Even Quran says God can have a Son without a wife : Allah SWT says: لَّوْ أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا لَّاصْطَفٰى مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ سُبْحٰنَهُ ۥ ۖ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْوٰحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ "If Allah had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing." (QS. Az-Zumar: Verse 4) Jesus also told the Pharisees : Matthew 3:9 KJV And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. If God can raise children unto Abraham through stones , why do we think he has not created a Son for Himself. It is strange though , but who are we to doubt when all the evidences are there. God is a Creator and giver of life. Biblically Jesus did that. This very issue was why Jesus was killed as well as his disciples. Back to the point of the op , he was simply saying that every religion should respect other religion and not impose its religion on others because it is provocative. Respect other people's belief . 2 Likes |

PROPHETmichael: This thread is not about whether Jesus is the son of God or not so your long thesis is irrelevant and illiterate. I will TRY AGAIN If I believe that the tree in my backyard is God naturally Muslims willl not accept that . The point of this thread is does a Muslim havve the right to come in public and call my tree an idol? Now do I equally have the right to call Muhammed a liar? That is the point of this thread that shoul be clear to any person who is literate. Every person has a belief that seems trueto him but if it contrdicts my own can I say it in public even if it offends others? Muslims dont believe Jesus is God Christians do Christians don't believe anyone sent Muhammed Muslims do Atheists don't believe any of those doctrines The point then is can everyone have freedom to refute any belief they don't agree with in public? |

enilove: May Allaah guide us to His true religion. Indeed Allaah is capable of all things. He created the earth, the heavens, and all that is within them. It is not beffiting the Majesty of Allaah to take a son, Exalted He is, far and above what you are ascribing to Him. The Quranic verse you qouted clearly show that it is not beffiting the Majesty of Allaah to take a son. Jesus (pbuh) is a prophet and messenger of Allaah. You are against a noble prophet of Allaah and he will certainly deny what you people are ascribing to him on the day of resurrection. As for what op ask, you do not know what relevance Muslims attach to prophethood that is why you consider it a provocation to call Jesus (pbuh) a prophet of Allaah. Prophethood is a highest position any human being attained. Prophets are people chosen by Allaah, protected from committing sins, taught guidance, and send to mankind as mercy to the world. By calling Jesus (pbuh) a prophet of Allaah we are elevating him to same status to that of our prophet (Muhammad pbuh). If that is provocation to the Christians then it should be to the Muslims too. And lastly, we will not allow you to practice what you term 'religion' unchallenged until you stop lying against a noble prophet of Allaah; until you stop spreading falsehood on earth; until you worship Allaah alone as did Jesus (pbuh). 2 Likes |

bahaushe1: That is the Islamic belief. We already know what you believe. No one asked you Whatever relevance you place to prophethod is irrelevant to a people who believe HE IS GOD> You are in effect refuting their entire religion. My issue is not that you should change your belief but do you understand. Do you understand that when you say it to their face it offends them. So is your position to that That is too bad they are wrong and we don't care? What we are asking is it it provocative to come out in public to air beliefs if they are offensiveto other religions? Surely you understand simple English Is it OK for Muslims to come out in public and tell people that their deities are idols because the Quran or Islam says so or should the keep this to themselves Similarly is it acceptable for those who share equal and opposite beliefs about Muhammad or Islam to do so in public? That is the nub of this thread so can we deal with the issues and not what you believe or do not believe If I believe that Muhammad is a liar who fabricated the Quran can I speak my beliefs freely? |

bahaushe1: I will respond to your last paragraph that says "we will not allow you to practice what you term religion...." How do Muslims intend to do that? By violence and murdering , is that not so? Let me tell you , any direct attack on Christians again will spell doom for your religion. We Christians are ready to destroy the Muslims wherever they are living if that is what your useless religion teaches you and want. The time has come to attack or kill anyone that kills the Christians . Just wait and see. I know that when you get your people destroyed , your type will be first to find fault and pass blame. Islam is a satanic religion and Allah is not God Almighty. Muhammed was not a prophet to we the Christians . If all religion had been forcing people to accept their religions b4 Islam came , would there be any one called a Muslim. Know this fact that a fake product is always coming after the original product has been in the market. Islam is false. That was why it could not convince anyone to freely accept it but by force. Islam will soon have the taste of what it started. Very very soon. I know that for Islam to learn and desist from violence, it the hard way the only way for them. The devil, allah, husband of allat , promised you hell after your death. Volume 1, Book 12, Number 770: Narrated Abu Huraira: The people said, "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He replied, "Do you have any doubt in seeing the full moon on a clear (not cloudy) night?" They replied, "No, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, "Do you have any doubt in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" They replied in the negative. He said, "You will see Allah (your Lord) in the same way. On the Day of Resurrection, people will be gathered and He will order the people to follow what they used to worship. So some of them will follow the sun, some will follow the moon, and some will follow other deities; and only this nation (Muslims) will be left with its hypocrites. Allah will come to them and say, 'I am Your Lord.' They will say, 'We shall stay in this place till our Lord comes to us and when our Lord will come, we will recognize Him. Then Allah will come to them again and say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say, 'You are our Lord.' Allah will call them, and As-Sirat (a bridge) will be laid across Hell and I (Muhammad) shall be the first amongst the Apostles to cross it with my followers. Nobody except the Apostles will then be able to speak and they will be saying then, 'O Allah! Save us. O Allah Save us.' There will be hooks like the thorns of Sa'dan in Hell. Have you seen the thorns of Sa'dan?" The people said, "Yes." He said, "These hooks will be like the thorns of Sa'dan but nobody except Allah knows their greatness in size and these will entangle the people according to their deeds; some of them will fall and stay in Hell forever; others will receive punishment (torn into small pieces) and will get out of Hell, till when Allah intends mercy on whomever He likes amongst the people of Hell, He will order the angels to take out of Hell those who worshipped none but Him alone. The angels will take them out by recognizing them from the traces of prostrations, for Allah has forbidden the (Hell) fire to eat away those traces. So they will come out of the Fire, it will eat away from the whole of the human body except the marks of the prostrations. At that time they will come out of the Fire as mere skeletons........ 1 Like |

Rashduct4luv: The killings in the Bible were not an open-ended type. It was not meant to force people to accept any religion. It was meant to give the Israelites a land where they would be separated from the pollution of idolaters to give the world an opportunity to be reconciled back to God through the seed of Abraham . That was why God told Abraham to leave : Genesis 12:1-3 KJV Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: [3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Deuteronomy 9:5 KJV Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. After possessing the land that God promised them , they kept their mode of worship within their land and did not force their religion on any nation. They were waiting for the Messiah to come. And the Messiah is Jesus Christ. When Jesus came he also preached peace and love. But for Islam whose religion and seed is not from Isaac , it has been violence and killing without boundary and justification. |

mujahid777: During the life time of Muhammed he called called a liar. Allah SWT says: وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةً مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍ ۙ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا إِنَّمَآ أَنْتَ مُفْتَرٍ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ "And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know." (QS. An-Nahl: Verse 101) He was called a liar because he kept changing one verse for another. Even the mode of worship like below : Volume 1, Book 8, Number 394: Bukhari Narrated 'Abdullah: The Prophet prayed (and the subnarrator Ibrahim said, "I do not know whether he prayed more or less than usual", and when he had finished the prayers he was asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Has there been any change in the prayers?" He said, "What is it?' The people said, "You have prayed so much and so much." So the Prophet bent his legs, faced the Qibla and performed two prostrations (of Sahu) and finished his prayers with Tasiim (by turning his face to right and left saying: 'As-Salamu'Alaikum-Warahmat-ullah'). When he turned his face to us he said, "If there had been anything changed in the prayer, surely I would have informed you but I am a human being like you and liable to forget like you. So if I forget remind me and if anyone of you is doubtful about his prayer, he should follow what he thinks to be correct and complete his prayer accordingly and finish it and do two prostrations (of Sahu)." |

mujahid777: Why cursing ? Don't you know the word of God regarding cursing ? Psalm 109:17-18 KJV As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. [18] As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. Surely , that curse is not for me , in Jesus name. |

Look at Afrucans debating over white men religions.nawa o. BTW,Traditionalists believe in many deities through which they connect with GOD.. Traditionalists believe in God,their belief in deities is no different from your belief in Jesus or Mohammed.. You pray through Jesus/Mohammed,they pray through Obatala et al...Nodifference |

enilove: This one of your problems, you qouted a hadith without reflecting over it is meaning. The hadith you qouted depicts events of the day of resurrection. On that day believers will see Allaah and seeing Him is more pleasing than entering paradise. But who are the believers that will make paradise? Believers are people who believe in oneness of Allaah, His Lordship, and worship none but Him. Thay also believe in His angels, the books He revealed to His messengers, His prophets and messengers, the day of resurrection, and divine decree. Allaah created mankind in order to test him. He who pass that test will be rewarded with paradise in the hereafter while he who fail the test will punished in hellfire. Allaah is just and has forbidden injustice for Himself and among His servants. Therefore, to ensure justice, Allaah choose the best among each nation and send him as prophet or messenger of Allaah to his people calling them to believe in oneness of Allaah and isolate Him in their worship. He also serve as a warner of the severe punishment for wrongdoers and Allaah's mercy for the righteous. The first of Allaah's prophets on earth was Prophet Adam (pbuh) and the last of them was Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Inbetween, there were hundreds of prophets the stories of some were narrated to us by Allaah in His books while keeping the stories of others to Himself. All the prophets called to one thing: believe in oneness, and worshipping of, Allaah alone. The laws governing the day to day affairs of the people differ based on the circumstance of the people, for example, it is allow for a brother to marry his sister among the people of Prophet Adam (pbuh) but forbidden among the people of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). This arrangement continued up to the time of Jesus (pbuh). Jesus (pbuh) was send to the children of Israel at a time when there was so much corruption among them. They have altered the book send to them by Allah through Moses (pbuh), they encouraged usury among themsleves, they stone and kills prophets of Allaah. It was at this difficult time that Allaah choose and send Prophet Jesus (pbuh) to them with a new book: Gospel. Gospel confirmed what was in the Torah, relaxes some of the restrictions in the Torah, and described the characteristics of the prophet that will succeed Jesus (pbuh). Once Jesus (pbuh) appeared it is expected that all those that believed in what Moses (pbuh) brought in the Torah should now believe in the new messenger (Jesus-pbuh) and use the Gospel to judge among people. Whoever among the children of Israel and others that lived at the time he preached and the 600 years that followed his ascend to heaven and just before Muhammad (pbuh) was called to prophethood belongs to the people of Jesus (pbuh). For one to be a believer during that people he must believe in Allaah, believe in prophethood and messengership of Jesus (pbuh), believe in the Gospel that was brought and used by Jesus (pbuh), believe in angels of Allaah, believe in the books that preceeded Gospel and the prophets that brought them. Anyone that lived during that period who rejected the calling of Jesus (pbuh) having seen or heard the messege in it is pure form is a disbeliver and is currently being punished for his disbelieve. Period of the prophethood and messengership of Jesus (pbuh) ended with the beginning of messengership of Muhammad (pbuh). Whoever lives in the period from the day Muhammad recieved his first revealation to the beginning of the hour belongs to the people of Muhammad. For one to be a believer during this period he must believe in oneness of Allaah, believe in the messengership of Muhammad (pbuh), believe in angels, believe in Allaah's books, in believe in the prophethood of all of Allaah's prophets (those known and those unknown) from Adam (pbuh) to Jesus (pbuh), believe in day of resurrection, and believe in devine decree. Whoever see or hear the call of Muhammad in it is pure, correct, and undiluted form and rejected it is a disbeliever and if he dies on that path will never make paradise. Whoever live in this period but did not see or hear about the call of Muhammad (pbuh) in it is pure, correct, and undiluted form ( this is the case of many people in europe, americas, and hinterlands all over the world) will not be punished by Allaah for his disbelieve but will be tested on the day of judgement. It is generally believed that whoever die while believing and worshipping Allaah alone and affirming that Muhammad (pbuh) is His servant and messenger will eventually make paradise. Some people will be punished according to the gravity of their sins before being admitted to paradise as long as they did not die worshipping others besides Allaah. Those are people referred to in that hadith. As for the issue of violence to alluded to, that is your imagination and it portray who you really are. I said we will not allow to continue spreading falsehood "unchallenged" but you dicided to skip that part. Well, this is part of that challenge I referred to, presenting you with evidences from your own book, our own book, and from rational point ofn view until truth becomes obvious to you. It is only people with poor historical accounts that associates Islam with violence. No dounbt, Jihad is prescribed for this nation by Allaah and we are ever ready to partake in it. However, it is known historical fact that it was the Pagans of Arabia that persecuted Muslims the same way early followers of Jesus (pbuh) were persecuted. Some Muslims were forced to migrate to Abysinia (Ethiopia) and later the disbelievers plot to kill the prophet just like they did to Jesus (pbuh). This forced the Muslims to leave their hometown of Makkah and migrate to Madinah. Then Jihad was prescribed and they took revenge and overpowered the disbelivers. Over the years, disbelievers have become notorious in chasing innocent prophets of Allaah out of their hometowns ( read the stories of prophets Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad -pbuh). They mocked and stones prophets and in some instances killed them. Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) is to last to the end of the world hence the need for Muslims to keep the transgression of the disbelievers in check. And finally, Islam is a religion of Allaah, if anyone could destroy it those before you would certainly have done so. You can not be more powerful than the people of Noah (pbuh) but Allaah destroyed them with water. You can not be more powerful than the Phaor but Allaah destroyed him and gave victory to His servant and messenger Moses (pbuh) and his people. You can not be more powerful than the Qurysh pagans, the Roman empire or the Persian empire but Allaah destroyed them and gave victory to His servant and messenger Muhammad (pbuh). |

aribisala0: You missed the point. We also feel offended any time they refer to Jesus (pbuh) as son of god or god just like they feel offended if we refer to him as a noble prophet and messenger of Allaah. And lastly to your question. Yes you can refer to him as such if you provide proof from our books where he said he fabricated the Quran. Whenever we say Jesus (pbuh) is not God neither is he son of God we quote verses from their book where Jesus (pbuh) said so. We are just echoing what they use to hide. 2 Likes |

bahaushe1: You are either missing the point or deliberately chooosing to be stupid. This thread is not about proof, or right or wrong. The fact is that some people BELIEVE Jesus is God. Many others including ME do not. If a believer of ONE religion reserves the right to assert that the beliefs in another religion are wrong then they must accept the right of others to say that their own beliefs are wrong. ALL THEIR BELIEFS So stop talking about books An atheist does not believe in God. So Muhammad's claim that God gave him the Quran must be false to an atheist. Than means to an atheist Muhammad is a liar or he is deluded with a mental affliction. Now I think it would be provocative for an atheist to say that publicly not because of right or wrong considerations but out of respect. The same should apply to Muslims calling Ogun or Sango idols or Jesus a prophet. The absolute reality is neither Christians or Muslims can prove that their books are not fiction. So let us stop referring to books and focus on the issue of this thread which is : whether or not you think a people in another religion are wrong you have to be respectful if you want them to respect your belief. Do you know that The Christian belief is that Muhammad is a false prophet It would be disrespectful for them to say so publicly The moment you call Jesus a prophet you give up any right to demand respect for your own belief .This applies equally the moment you call any deities idols. You should restrict that to your mosque or Musli only audiences 3 Likes |
