Things I Learnt From The Just Concluded Anambra Election by tk4rd: 6:40am On Nov 20, 2017
I actually learnt a lot from the election,, but these few lessons were so spectacular..
.
1. If something is not actually spoilt, there is no need replacing it.. Even if you want to fix it, You don't have to fix it by replacing it.
You can only consider to replace it if it had gone bad.
.
2. Even if you like, you can organise a town party or a big merriment on the election day, and tell all the people to leave the election and come for your party. That one is your business.. But once anybody dared to crawl to the election ground and vote, his vote would count, and whoever he voted for would win. (That is, if the INEC officials didn't rig the election after-all - See no. 4)
.
3. Whether we like it or not, the Card-Reader Technology is here to stay. Once there is any form of manual accreditation in a polling unit, the whole election in that polling unit would be heading for outright cancellation.
This method grossly minimised the evil of multiple thumbprinting, and lots of "Over-Voting" were busted.
.
4. Even with the Card-Reader Technology, some randy INEC Officials in some polling units helped the riggers to outsmart the so-called Card-Reader technology. These randy officials sold off some uncollected voters-cards (from other wards) to these red-eyed riggers who bought off the cards in order to tally with the number of registered voters in the various polling units. And in the end, their rigging practices were not detected nor cancelled..
.. This one vexed me shaa.. The Card-Reader Technology should be improved upon before 2019, so that each Card-Reader is perfectly synchronized with its polling unit data alone, so that a Card-Reader cannot accept any card from any other polling unit, even if the card is from another polling unit in that same ward, it will reject it..
...
**Addition..
5. If you campaign with hatred against your opponent, the person you are campaigning against becomes even more popular the moment he handles your hatred with calmness and maturity.

Yess.. The Card-Reader was strictly adhered to in the accreditation..
And all the elections in all the polling units that did not use the Card-Reader were all cancelled without any apology.
...
INEC always love using Anambra elections to do experiments on new things...
I don't know why.

I was an APGA supporter before I became an IPOB suppporter. I said it here severally that I will be happy if 70% of my fellow Anambarians boycotted this election and my people did not diappoint.

The story across the board is the very low turnout of voters, a good indication that people massively boycotted this election. The boycott would have been even more successful had Nnamdi Kanu had time to campaign more in Anambra for election boycott before the authorities abducted him.

The rest of the figures we see is nothing but extensive "vote buying" and manupulation that produced the result where APGA can defeat the rest in all the 21 Local Govts. The entire election was monetised, even some who had planned to boycott elections started looking for their voters card when they heard that N5000 was being shared.

Im satisfied with the extent of the boycott, it was even higher than the 70% I hoped for.

Continue consoling yourself, you were among those who said there won't be election and Anambrarians will boycott it, now ndi Anambra came out in large numbers, you've started talking of percentage.
You should be bowing your head in shame this moment, most of your comrades are already deactivating their accounts but you are still here with no shame.

Ndi Ofe Nsala grin grin stop consoling yourself. In 2013 there was 26% voters turnout. Was that also due to IPOB vote and die threats?

You campaigned. You threatened people's businesses. You even threatened their lives. Yet more people came out in 2017 to vote than 2013.

Face the facts. You guys are just what you have always been called. Irrelevant miscreants.

yes the boycott rate was high, but I don't see the gain to we igbos if it happens come 2019.After all, it was low voters turnout in the SE that enabled buhari to win

So unfortunate that some animals don't know the meaning of boycott.

When has boycott become stopping an election from taking place ?

If you going to go back in history, go further back to when Ojukwu fought for the presidency.

The number of votes Ojukwu got for APGA in Anambra alone is twice what all the 37 parties in the just concluded elections got. More than a million Anambarians came out to vote. Personally, I dont think up to 100,000 people came out to vote in the last elections, the rest were just 'monetised politics'

The boycott was a big success and low voter turnout is the main proof, not the result sheet. Anyone can manipulate result sheets but the near empty polling boots we all saw do not lie. The Anambra elections is a good start.

Im all for a total boycott of elections in the SS/SE 2019. Something has to change in this country and it wont change by voting.

Forget 2019, Buhari has already won that one. The North dont care about who is in power as long as it is a Northerner and Buhari who is already there is their best bet.

Come 2019, the Yorubas will vote APC again since they have no other party that represent them, the entire North will once again back Buhari. No matter how Igbos vote, Buhari will be elected again.

So whats the point? Im all for election boycott in the entire Igbo land in 2019. Voting in Nigeria has only helped a few to the detriment of everybody else. May Igbo land one day be independent so we can start making things happen because nothing will ever happen in Nigeria except backwardness

I wish I can comfort you... Compare number of voters in 2013 and 2017..... It will dissappoint you to know how wrong you are.

70% of 1000 = 700..... So my question is....70% of what number of members? Try not to include sympathisers

If you want to educate me on the "function of the incident form", you are so free to do that..
But one thing was made very clear to me during the election..
At the collation of the results, many results from many polling units were cancelled because the number of votes recorded on paper varied with the number that was captured on the Card-Reader..
If the Card-Reader was such an ass, why was it used as a basis for cancelling of results.?? Why didn't the almighty "incident form" come to rescue.??
